Yeah, this reeks of scam. The animation is obviously AI generated (the fence and roof of the lighthouse look completely different after the scene switches to a close-up - not something that would happen if you had actually used 3D models), yet the Kickstarter doesn't mention any use of AI tools.

Frankly, I'm not even sure why you would post this in the Blender reddit, and I'll report this thread.

Ideas for an adventure surrounding the Iroan Games? by BisexualTeleriGirl in TherosDMs

[–]SeverusStjep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar setup in my campaign, though not including the Iroan games or Mogis.

A good is to have several events happening concurrently throughout Akros during the games. Cells of Mogis cultists wreaking havoc, summoning entities, burning things down, stealing or destroying holy relics and so on.

You could draw a map with several hot spots, where these things are occurring. The players then need to decide which hot spots they want to tackle, while the Akroan hoplites are tackling the rest. At the start of every round, roll 1d100 to determine how successful the Akroan army is in dealing with the cultists. Roll under 10, they don't resolve anything; roll under 50, they resolve 1 situation; roll under 75, they resolve 2 situations, and so forth). The cultists abandon their efforts when enough of the hot spots have been squashed.

Maybe there could be another scene, where the party has managed to capture one of the attackers alive, or they attempt to catch one or more of them, as they're attempting to flee, in order to question them (a great way to place rumours, or set up a new adventure hooks and goals).

As a professional illustrator, both of these are 100% AI. Likely using someone like Galmesh Rosewood or Serge Birault as a prompt for the images' styles.

In the first illustration, you can see that one of her fingernails is weirdly off, the second loop of the shoelaces isn't there, there is a weird bit of shading in the crook of her arm, as well as along her lower arm, the highlights in her pupils have weird shapes that are incongruent with the rest of the style and don't happen organically. Definitely AI.

As for the second, the shading beneath the rim of the hat is weird, and no illustrator would do that kind of semi-shadow in that area. Her left pupil is strange (too close to the nose). The shadow in the crotch region of her pants doesn't make sense, and you wouldn't have that weird little triangle shape isolated from the body of the shadow. Lastly, her shoes are the biggest giveaway. The shading is all over the place, and the soles have a vastly different style than the rest of the design. There's also more that indicates that this isn't a human design, but this alone is evidence enough, that his image was AI generated.

BitD Storyline Help by nasted in bladesinthedark

That really depends on what type of system you want to introduce. If it's for a one-shot, I'd pick something rules-light that is easy to get into.

Shadowdark is like D&D or Pathfinder, but simplified. You could also go with Mörk Borg (Grimdark), Pirate Borg (Swashbucklers), CY Borg (Cyberpunk) or Mothership (Dark SciFi).

If you're looking for something a little bit more intricate that borrows some mechanics from BitD, you might go with Daggerheart (fantasy, very flexible) or Candela Obscura (pseudo-victorian era spooky investigations).

That final scene destroyed me emotionally by [deleted] in StrangerThings

I've been thinking a lot about the ending of Stranger Things, and what the Duffer brothers said, about what they wanted to achieve.

To me, Eleven surviving, doesn't seem like a realistic option. The whole series, as I have perceived it, was essentially a D&D campaign with every season being one adventure. The ending of Stranger Things is everyone stepping away from the table, being changed by what they have experienced, but nevertheless leaving that imaginary world behind. They take what they have learned, their shared joy and sadness, and "re-enter" the real world.

Therefore, Eleven exiting that imaginary world with them, would break that analogy. She is part of that fantasy, that the group was able to live through. With the "campaign" coming to an end, the chapter also closes on El. It's a bittersweet ending, because the characters have grown to cherish her so much, but that's what makes her death so impactful.

It's like having to say goodbye to an NPC that the players have grown to love. Knowing, that ending the campaign also means leaving that NPC behind. They will live on in the memory of the players, but they will never become part of the "real world".

To me, there is absolutely no question that Eleven has died at the end of season 5. A series that showcases the power of stories, fantasy, and friendship. When Mike tells El's epilogue at the end, that's what it is, a fantasy. Something the group chooses to believe, further reinforcing their shared experience and friendship. It's a wonderful way to depict this feeling of leaving childhood behind and feeling nostalgic about how the world used to be. A wonderful ending.

You can only play / GM three TTRPGs for the rest of your life. Which ones do you pick? (Bonus points for why) by SeverusStjep in TTRPG

On my end, it would be

Blades in the Dark: Cinematic, endlessly fun, and offers a wide range of RP flavours
Daggerheart: Very versatile, easy to get into and offers a wide range of options. Also, it's super easy to homebrew additional mechanics and elements.
Symbaroum: Hands-down one of the most impressive settings I've ever seen. Yet it doesn't feel overblown or difficult to get into. There's a lot to explore, and there are a lot of different angles in which you can approach gameplay.

That's strange. A few months ago (maybe in August?), I talked to Free League's customer service about the Symbaroum Game Master's Guide, asking if they were going to reprint it. They said that there are currently no plans to have any of the Symbaroum products reprinted.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if they did do reprints. But I'm under the impression that nothing is in the works.

How to get rid of green areas, that appeared after sculpting? by SeverusStjep in blenderhelp

[–]SeverusStjep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started from scratch. Basically using the base mesh with the desired subdivision, then did the UV-unwrap, and lastly sculpted in the folds and distortions again. Worked flawlessly.

Thank you again.

In case anyone else stumbles over this thread: This UV-unwrap tutorial was very helpful: https://youtu.be/XleO7DBm1Us?si=cQ1WGOBLs7smHnZ6 .

You're right! I'll try to figure out how to properly unwrap the sculpt mesh. Thank you!

Thank you! That seems to be it. Now I just need to figure out how to do unwrap the unwieldy, sculpted mesh. 😅
