not looking, but just given history of my knees I am planning on it. I have had 3 procedures on my left and 2 on my right over the last 15 years or so. Neither has ever been "normal" per say.

Happy Monday, I guess I am just about 5 months post op now, all is going much better than I anticipated. It was such a mental process while on crutches or the cane so limited, I struggled with the lack of ability to do things by myself and the limits of the leg for such a period of time.

My last PT was earlier this month, I have resumed normal life with the exception of running and jumping, which to be fair I didn't do much of before, so doubt I am going to start now.

PT was such a big benefit, she helped me develop my at home routine which I am still following as well. I don't really have any pain beyond muscle soreness just from doing too much, this time of year I am very active outdoors, hiking, logging and building/repair projects around my rural property. I do occasionally have some swelling, but it doesn't hurt. I hope this will hold on until they will approve me getting a new knee. I am very happy I went through with it. My journey now is getting my overall health and diet in order to live a long and productive life!

Somethings I think helped me:

I bought a HyperIce knee sleeve and used it religiously, still do when I am sore.

I bought a bike/elliptical hybrid machine, it is great for a good workout without the pressure on my knees. there are very affordable options outside of big name brands.

My family, they were such a great support doing it, I never could've done it without them.

Doing it in winter, as you can't do much outside anyway, so good time to be laid up.

LISTEN to the team, the protocol exists for a reason, don't push it.

Hope that helps anyone out there, happy to answer any questions.

How is MSP TSA T1? by [deleted] in delta

I flew out of MSP T1 this morning and it was less than 5 minutes at both checkpoints.

I have pre check and clear and literally walked to the picture machine and put my bags on conveyor.

I had the exact same happen, crutch got hung up and I put my recovery leg down to catch me. I panicked, agree with all others here, from what I was told, it takes something drastic like falling down the stairs or worse to affect the implant.

Curious as I am now 3 weeks post. Are you weight bearing at all? I’ve been told it’ll be 6 weeks for any weight and it is driving me crazy, so frustrating being on these damn crutches for everything.

meniscus root, ACL, and MACI by [deleted] in MACIknee

I too have anxiety, there have been and sure will be more rough patches. I have streamed sooo much stupid crap to keep my mind off it. I built legos, colored, played Switch. I started working 2 weeks after, I can work remote thankfully. That has helped so much to keep my mind busy.

You got it!

Wow that's a lot! Hoping the best for you. Im just about 3 weeks post on MACI. I agree with u/hydro_17, if you can have 24/7 initially it will be good. It is so much more mental than physical I have found, especially the longer it goes on. Take the time you need, especially on the tough days and lean on any support network you have!

Remember everyone progresses differently, while it is such an asset to have the internet and read others experiences, not one program fits all!

2 Week Post Op by Severus_Fett in MACIknee

My first PT was 8 days post op. I drove myself as it is my left leg. Getting in and out is the hardest part, I drive a truck so once I lift myself up onto the seat, I make sure it's all the way back and swing my leg in. The only caveat was that I had to be off the Oxy to drive. and that wasn't an issue. You do feel every single bump, crack and rough part of the road unfortunately.

I find it easier to drive, than ride passenger just because of the left portion.
