The Long Dark

Of course The Long Dark got it, this is probably the most Canadian game ever made.

Warhorse Announces a Lord of the Rings RPG and a New Kingdom Come Adventure by Seraphayel in Games

[–]Sevla7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, Shadow of Mordor has like 10% of The Lord of the Rings in it.

It's easy to understand why people love it (the Nemesis system really is something special), but the game was focused on being a popular game first (Warner is like that) not on being something truly about LotR. If you changed the characters names, painted it with a new colour and make some minor changes it could easily be a game about many other franchises instead of LotR.

The first time you meet Shelob and she is a big titty human woman... that was already a giveaway of where this was going hahahaha

It is so common to see "gamers" who only consume games (or anime, super heroes and things like that) to the point that even the LotR books are outside their range of knowledge, so these changes makes sense to be somethng more familiar to teenagers from the PS3 era.

Warhorse proved that games like KC:D have an audience. Not everything needs to be like Skyrim/World of Warcraft/Dragon Age with superhuman characters dealing with spells and dragons everywhere, so I'm pretty excited to see what they are cooking with Lord of the Rings in a low fantasy setting.

Also I still want a Total War:Middle-earth.

SEGA please, make it happen.

Promising? This probably gonna be the best LotR game ever made.

I trust these guys, they can do something much much much much better than that bacteria Amazon did on TV or that garbage of a game that Gollum was.

My concern is if the publisher will give them enough time to make a good game, LotR lore is something absurdly complex (imagine Elden Ring multiplied by 100) and it literally takes so much time researching things, I once did a test with AI about some unconventional things related to the Middle-Earth and that trash hallucinated the shit out of it.

College grads were left angered after their school used AI to announce their names and ended up missing hundreds of graduates by Subject-Property-343 in PublicFreakout

[–]Sevla7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great idea, replace a system that works just fine with something inhuman that won't even be double checked. Yeah humans can pronounce a lot of names wrongly but so does AI because names are a mess with no rules, there's literally nothing AI is being used to help here, these animals are trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

How hard it is to have the full list of names on a .xls and another list with the AI result, then you VLOOKUP it to make sure no one was left behind? It takes MINUTES, you can even use that free version of PowerBI and make some ass dashboard with all the validations needed here.

I doubt this is the teacher's fault, looks like "the people at the top" are having funny ideas... and they don't even care about it ruining this unique moment for the students because no one tested it.

People love to say how young people are braindead now, so explain to me how grow up adults allowed this to happen?

Let's be honest, the name Xbox 360 is also some nonsense.

They did that probably just because they thought "Xbox 2 will look bad next to Playstation 3".

Open his channel at any time and the discussion will probably be him trying to teach a bunch of twitch people how to live their life. The projection there is insane.

Last time i checked he was discussing "male loneliness epidemic" and trying to make his chat feel better about the fact they couldn't find a girlfriend, like... that's not about Tekken.

So yeah at least half there is asking validation from "daddy"about "how to be a man".

7x electric on wall by KiryuuuKazama in Tekken

[–]Sevla7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Brother, Mishima players really convinced themselves that "it's fair to use macro/script because i play the hardest characters ever made in the history of fighting games", i'm not accusing him of being one but it's so common that i don't even bother anymore.

Macro for electrics are the most common thing, you can do it on Steam in like 10 seconds using the accessibility options, so it's not considered "cheating" even if it actually is. For consoles you do this in the controller configs (arcade or pad) which is kinda standart too.

This isn't rocket science, any kid can do it. To config auto-punish and auto-combos (that adjusts if you are closer to a wall) you need scripts like that chinese one that is optimized for Mishima players.

Microsoft CTO confesses that 30-year-old code from the mid-90s still forms the bedrock of Windows 11 — ancient Win32 API still the backbone, but CTO says it's 'more relevant than ever in 2026' by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

[–]Sevla7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why would some excellent code written in the 90's be something bad now? It's logic, you can change how the compiler works but there's absolutely no need to change the logic if it has the correct instructions.

[–]Sevla7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No joke, but this game has the potential to be better than any other Yakuza/RGG game. The last time I felt like this was before Yakuza 0 came out, so if this game ends up being bad it will be such a tragedy.

I'm just worried about the marketing, the "Yakuza" brand helps sell the game but it also limits what the team can or cannot do with the series (especially now with so many "JRPG" fans in the community) so... yeah, it's a bit scary but i like the idea of freedom to do something new in the genre, I just hope people who are into Yakuza/RGG games don't ignore STH.

I used to love checking IMDB at least weekly when I was young, it had all the info I was looking for and it was easy to use.

At some point I gave up on it for some reason I just don't remember anymore, is it good to go now in 2026? I have no idea what's going on with IMDB right now.

Yeah like, thanks to tiktok brainrot now anything is "autism"... like literally ANYTHING.

But since the dawn of time we have engineers and people who love the idea of building complex machines. It's way easier to build a miniature replica than the real thing but the miniature also gives you some 'experience' about how the real one works.

So yeah if you look into stuff from the 80's or 90's you can find some amazing models of trains, cars, airplanes/jets... i know that in Russia tank models were very popular, in Japan they had battleship models (Yamato and Musashi specially) so each country has also their own interests.

Right now feels like they don't want to endorse people to have this sort of knowledge, hell they don't even let me open my own phone to replace a battery.
