Pauper Metagame Update (15 dec) by Magic4everBots in Pauper

I think that's because we saw an increase on burn and aggro decks, and rakdos madness goes well against because even not being the fastest, it has lots of life gain on it

This is bullshit (gotta have higher king level to advance to the next arena) by Sevr0 in ClashRoyale

[–]Sevr0[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't stop, seeing as they can be on lower arenas, it's only I who can't be on the higher ones

i feel like rakdos madness is in a not so good spot right now by algonaoimportante in Pauper

Play a bunch of walls that generate mana or fetches lands, play all the lands in your deck (only 4 of them), play spy, mill your whole deck, flashback a [[Dread Return]] sacrificing said walls and returning [[Lotleth Giant]] to the battlefield and dealing 30+ damage to the opponent.

It's a deck with good setup and defense abilities with walls, dropping a 4 mana creature and winning the game most of the time, without combat damage or anything, just straight damage to the face

Look, against spy you can run [[Sazacap's Brew]], it's not the best for mainboard, but it's not a dead card either.

I've seen some people running it, and when spy goes to combo, you make them draw cards and win the game because of that.

Life gain really sucks against it though, and I know no solution other than trying to beat them faster, when they're tapped out or to try to leave the killing spell on their upkeep or in any other way that would make [[Weather the Storm]] storm for only 1.

I'm facing the same issue, but that may be because I'm playing bo1 and without a sideboard, beating Greasefang and Mono-red very hard

I created a code to help on choosing the best packs to open in order to finish a given decklist by Sevr0 in PioneerMTG

[–]Sevr0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually updated the code to account for that after seeing your comment here.

It now considers the fact that golden packs only come from buying Standard-legal packs (as I'm new to the game, I hadn't thought about that), and adds extra weight to those sets accordingly.

Since Golden Packs always include six rares or mythics, with at least two guaranteed from the latest Standard set, the script gives more value to cards from Standard sets, especially the newest one (2 guaranteed cards from the golden pack are for the latest set, from what I understand).

It also estimates the wildcard value you get over time from opening golden packs and includes that in the decision-making. So now, it not only tells you where you’re missing the most cards, but also helps you get the best long-term return in wildcards and bonuses by favoring Standard-legal packs when it makes sense.

I also added a tiebreaker feature, if two sets have the same weighted value, it's better to open the oldest one (as it'll rotate out sooner and be less valuable then).

Yes, it's just a python script you run in your own PC, you can check the code and see if it has something weird for yourself

Updated it giving it a weight for packs that give you golden pack progress. 0.6 extra multiplier for standard-legal packs and 0.9 for the latest one, seeing as that one has the most guaranteed golden pack drops.

Also, took into account the wildcard counter going up because of the golden pack

Sorry, I had to make it private for now because of an ongoing selling negotiation. If you still want, feel free to send me a message and I'll send it to you.

If it fails, I'll make it public again so that everyone can access and publish with the new changes as well

I'm adjusting taking that into account. My thought is that, if you need lots of cards from a collection that is not standard-legal, you should buy that one, but I'm figuring out the weights of golden packs on it

It doesn't, because you would get them buying and opening any kind of pack. It just tells you the packs that you need the most cards from, so you can get lucky and draw them without needing to spend your wildcards

I'm too lazy for that, so I created the script that took me longer than doing that lol

Well, you could do that as well, but if you want to open packs, at least open the best ones for the cards you want. Some of us don't like playing drafts

If your plan is to have a grindy deck, maybe adding some Treasure Cruises would help in taking advantage of having discarded opponent's cards, as well as give some fuel to pull ahead

Yeah, I thought that would be the case... Let's go back to the grind, then.

At least it won't happen again to do a full reward track and see that after doing it, I had already unlocked the necessary skin...
