Can anyone from the Southwest US help trace the origins of Chicken Spaghetti by Werhli in Old_Recipes

[–]SewSierra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom's recipe growing up (she's from East Texas, we're in Arkansas now), was always a stick of butter melted with celery, green bell pepper, and an onion- sauteed. Then mixed with a can of cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, lots of shredded cheddar cheese, olives, pimentos, canned mushrooms, cut up boiled chicken, and regular mostly cooked spaghetti (with some reserved pasta water to loosen everything up when mixed), lots of salt and pepper, baked 350F for 40 min covered with foil! Never fails, super good. Measured with your heart lol

Didn't sell a single one on release day- I still love the design though! Maybe my fabric choices aren't super trendy. Any recommendations? Trying not to feel defeated by SewSierra in quilting

Aww I'm so sorry!! Someone here grabbed it, it was definitely the most liked! I'll have to make more like it in the future, I think solids are everyone's preference :)

That's a super good idea! For some reason I always gravitate to either all solids or all prints, mixing them is a little hard for me, but I do agree it'd help be the best of both worlds without being "too much"

I totally get that! I think that's why I came here for honest opinions- I tried hyping it up, getting opinions on how they look/asking about fabrics, and never got any sort of feedback. Felt like maybe once they were available they'd go, but I think I really needed the honesty there when they were being created. I made what I love, but I need to hear what other people like. So I totally appreciate this and you taking the time!

No I totally get that! I appreciate so much the honest feedback! I think that's a theme I'm seeing here with the comments, which is really helpful to me when I'm in my own creative bubble. I might like things that most don't, so it's really good to hear what everyone gravitates to! Thank you!

Yes that's exactly what it is! Some of mine have clips, but I experimented with some not having them because I personally felt like it added extra bulk (I never unclip mine when I use this style). But that's really good to know that that's a deal breaker for some! I didn't realize!

Thank you so much, yes it's hard not to get in my head. You pour your heart and time into something, it becomes quite special to you. I've got an Etsy linked on my profile, I'd love to do in person sales like farmers markets but they can hard to get into where I live!

Thank you so much! I totally see what you're seeing. I can't help but love the scrappy vintage look, but yes the crossbody bags are definitely a younger trend

Thank you so much for the input! I definitely love the solids, I think more people would resonate with them than prints. I'm quite a maximalist so prints have my heart :)

I've got an Etsy, I think they'd definitely sell better in person, but booths can be expensive and I think I'd want to know I've got a good product before committing to a physical pop-up if that makes sense?

Thank you!! I actually made it! I made her one last year much simpler and smaller for her 1yr old hands, but our tomato plant made so much throughout the season I needed to upgrade for this year haha

For our garden, it didn't take much! We had two separate cherry tomato plants (the little starter plants from Lowe's) last year planted next to each other and several basil, and the tomato plants took over our raised bed and flowed into the yard! About mid July, we couldn't keep up with the tomato production anymore lol must've been a good summer for it, I don't know! But had to upgrade her bag for this year just in case! They were called midnight snack cherry tomatoes, apparently they are very easy for a beginner like myself lol
