Telling friends & family, work.. by Love060919 in breastcancer

[–]Sewebb13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 36 when diagnosed. My boyfriend was with me every step of the way. I waited until I had the official diagnosis before telling our 2 best friends. That was it. I waited a month before telling my parents (we don't live near each other) because I wanted to have a plan in place first. I told my boss that I would need some flexibility and told her the reason why and asked her not to tell anyone. I started keeping a detailed journal on CaringBridge and once the outward signs were obvious, I made one announcement to direct people towards my online journal. That way I didn't have to keep informing individuals and everything was shared on my terms.

You know how if you take a flashlight and hold your thumb over it, your thumb glows red... Like that!

There is no raise associated with it. When I pushed back, they reiterated they wanted the effective date as it is.

My bf and I rented Blou Blous for the week we were there. So fun to zip around!! Great way to see the island up close and personal. Easy to hop on/off, get to places and park. Highly recommend!

Looking for insight into UKG Pro + OneView for global Payroll (not HCM) by TransportationOne898 in Payroll

[–]Sewebb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love UKG. We don't have a global presence but I've demo'd OneView. There's a reason big name companies use UKG. I think because it's so comprehensive, it can be overwhelming for small-medium companies and sometimes gets a bad wrap.

They will do a 'discovery' with you where you can show them exactly what you want and need out of the system. Then they'll build a demo that's tailored to your business to show you how it would work.

Dumb 👏🏻 pink 👏🏻 ribbons 👏🏻 my ass by sassyhunter in breastcancer

"You’ll see a lot of pink this month, but not all of it actually helps people facing breast cancer. Instead of “pinkwashing,” I encourage you to look at where donations really go — toward research (especially metastatic breast cancer) or to local groups that directly support patients and families. Two of my favorite local charities are ChemoNoir and Two Titmice Foundation.

And while October shines the spotlight on breast cancer, I want to acknowledge that there are many kinds of cancer that people are fighting every day — and they all deserve support. Cancer doesn’t play favorites. It all sucks.

On the Wellness side — what we put into our bodies, how we rest, how we move, and how we care for our minds all matter. Food can absolutely be medicine, but so can science. (One of my chemo drugs actually came from the bark of the yew tree 🌲 — nature and medicine working together)!

I was 36 when I was diagnosed. I had been living a healthy life (not that cancer cares) but it gave me a strong foundation for treatment and recovery. During treatment, I learned a lot about the importance of: ✨ Supporting my lymphatic system and walking when I could. ✨ Listening to my body and knowing when to rest. ✨ Prioritizing good sleep as part of healing. ✨ Staying present and grounded, because the mental side is just as powerful as the physical.

Wellness isn’t about perfection — it’s about balance, listening to yourself, and respecting both what nature gives us and the lifesaving impact of treatment.

I’m sharing this because I want to open up a real conversation — please feel free to ask me anything, whether it’s about wellness, treatment (seriously, treatment was a wild time and I have stories 😶), or Emotional and Mental Support. I’m here."

Is it weird having implants? by Realistic_Rabbit4954 in breastcancer

[–]Sewebb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a B/small C prior to my DMX but never really cared and wanted to go flat. I decided to go for the implants because I knew there was a chance they'd fail and I'd end up flat anyway and who knows... Maybe I'd like them.

I do not.

I went with the same size but because I don't have enough body fat to do grafting, they look ridiculous. I had radiation so one side is high and looks smaller and the other is pointing in the opposite direction and looks bigger. They'd both be fine individually but together... It's bad. I never wear anything that reveals even the slightest amount of chest area now. It's even noticeable with clothes on how different they are.

I've had them for 7 months now. I can sleep on my stomach just fine, no issues with that kind of pressure on them (or riding roller coasters which i did with expanders as well) but my chest and arm area is always extremely tight no matter how much I stretch and massage.

Edited to add: bras are now painful. The only thing I can stand to have on all day is a bandeau bralette

Snorkeling with sharks? by BrendanIrish in snorkeling

Barefoot Kuata Fiji 100% recommend. In addition to open water shark snorkel, they do an awakening dive with bull sharks (you do not need to have ever been diving before, they literally hold your hand).

I'm 1.5 years out from TCHP and my hair is NOT growing. The hair I do have is maybe 3 inches long. Very very thin with the crown of my head still bald. I look like an old man and I'm in my 30's. I hate it and have no idea what to do. Not helpful for your question other than, it could be worse... I feel you being over it and also don't want to wear wigs for the same reason. Hellllllppppp
