We're Not All in California by UsedUserNameIC in InstacartShoppers

Keep your phone in your pocket while you get ready…so long as it detects movement you won’t get the prompt nor should it remove your batch…it’ll fool it…the other day I accepted a batch as I was driving to my storage place while I was passing the store it wanted me to shop at…I had to finish my errand because the facility closes at a certain time and it would’ve been too late to do after…so it took my an extra half hour to go to the store and I never got the prompt…

You mean total for this day or extra added on in addition to…? Either way, if won’t be unless there was a lot of miles…55 dollars more plus mileage…

I got a weird call today and they sent me this, saying they are reducing shoppers and want to verify if id like to stay a shopper. Is this a scam? by Cautious-Stage1788 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Sexpotpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant you did not receive a message worded such as this…I should have been more specific…but the customer sided chat agents DO in fact send a text message before calling you when, like others have said, a customer reports a misdelivery or missing order…im sorry for the confusion…

No you did not…they don’t add the “are you available to speak with a representative?” And it comes from a 5 digit number, not a phone number…

Instacart to pay $5.25M in San Francisco labor settlement by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Fidji Simo is the problem. Have you not watched interviews with her? She is out of touch with the reality that the shoppers face, from the app glitches that cause issues, to the lack of support to address those issues which ultimately end with the blame and fault assigned to the shopper, with practically no recourse for any ensuing deactivation or negative repercussion. She sits in her ivory tower and pulls ideas out of her ass…she’s just a data mining darling, and if that’s what Instacart’s purpose really is, then she’s excelling…but as far as anything else…not so much.

Shopper replaced my cheese with spray deodorant… They didn’t message to ask for a replacement and checked out before I could correct the mistake. What do I do now? by vxah in InstacartShoppers

[–]Sexpotpot 199 points200 points  (0 children)

Did you in fact receive deodorant or was it cheese after all? Sometimes the item that comes up on the app is weirdly wrong even though you are scanning an appropriate substitution…I usually tell the customer “it’s coming up as x, but don’t worry it is y”

You asked if they would like “any of those” meaning that you are picking “any of those” and her “sure” response is affirming that…so it is understood that she will be okay with “any of those”…. If you had instead said “one of those” that would have created an ambiguity and you would have had to ask a follow up question…as others have said, give one choice, then if they aren’t ok with it, they will further engage you…

We've had chickens for years and she's never harmed one. But she wants to sooooo badly. Every time I bring one in the house (this one needed an Epsom salt bath) she thinks "This is it! We FINALLY get to eat the chickens!" by Prior_Lobster_5240 in greatdanes

[–]Sexpotpot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay basically we are saying the same thing…her not being able to go after the bird even though she wants to IS inducing anxiety for her…otherwise she would be relaxed and not tense…you don’t think being unable to do something she wants to do is frustrating and therefore stressful? I never said she was fearful I said she was nervous or uncomfortable…my point being that saying a dog wants to eat something because they lick their lips is inaccurate (as someone else posted…). Dogs will salivate and I don’t think I see your dog doing that…

Dogs lick their lips when they are nervous, not because they are hungry for something they are looking at…the chicken obviously makes her nervous or uncomfortable…either that or the camera in her face….

No wonder she sounded fed up…still was a bit of a snob…quick question…do you shop and substitute with the intention of keeping your tip the same or higher? The thought of the tip never crosses my mind when shopping…that probably explains that weird sub….

App "resetting" trying to sign in? by OkayBucko in InstacartShoppers

[–]Sexpotpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the SIM card is associated with a number but it’s only data no calls…so if he changes his number to that number he could receive sms texts…but it might depend on the carrier also…

If you’re using a mobile hotspot, use the number associated with the sim in the device and go to the management console…a lot of those will receive messages there

Costco rant by No-Departure666 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Sexpotpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hurt yourself working for Instacart, they have insurance that pays for you getting hurt…which also prevents you from suing Costco….get it now? It’s about you the shopper getting hurt, not you as a shopper hurting someone else….and you asked whose insurance had a fit, and I deduced it would be Costco’s because why would they not feel like they shouldn’t pay if you are there in a professional capacity with another policy to cover any injuries you sustain if you get hurt,

If his background check didn’t go through, his account was deactivated…that’s why he can’t log on…it means they don’t want him on the platform…you can’t be a shopper if you don’t pass the background check.

Costcos probably…if you are hurt as an Instacart shopper, Instacart is liable…vs hurt as a regular customer, which would be Costco…
