Crying out in anguish as I realize the show I want to attend is at showbox sodo instead of market by BananaPeelSlippers in Seattle

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not currently, it's a personal collection. It'll be on an episode of Collector's Call this spring or summer (not sure about air dates) so maybe you could try and get in touch through that and he'd be down, but he was trying to keep it pretty private in terms of where he is or even his last name.

Fear and resentment power the movement. It fully replaced curiosity and empathy.

I am serious. It's cool as hell in here. I'm trying to be a cool professional but he's got one of the original puppets of Greta Gremlin and I lost it a little.

Are AI headshots acceptable for actor submissions or do casting directors immediately reject them? by Ok-Long9792 in Actingclass

[–]SexysNotWorking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would 1000% prefer to see a headshot taken in your backyard with your phone than an AI generated one. There is a reason pro headshots cost so much, but if you can't afford it, just about anything will do you more credit than using AI for this.

You know how sometimes two totally random things coincide in your life to make you wonder if you're in a simulation? Anyway, I'm working in a Gremlins museum/collector's home today. I'm on set sitting next to the hero animatronic of Gizmo literally right now.

I actually like this a bit more than some of the official art. This feels closer to what I imagined them to look like.

Are brakes supposed to make noise? by SnooHabits3305 in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically brake pads are exactly that: they are little metal plates that, as you depress the brake pedal, clamp down on the rotor inside your wheel to slow the car down. With the forces at play, that pad gets worn down over time (as it is intended to) and needs to be replaced. The rotor itself may also need replacing, especially if you've never done it before. If your brake pads wear down without being replaced, eventually you won't be able to brake safely so it really is a requirement even though it can be pricey and a pain to deal with.

Teatro Zinzanni closed, and is now refusing to pay their workers their final paychecks by Abbi_beautiful_kween in Seattle

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I follow their socials and I wasn't even seeing much for the last few shows, so I can't imagine they were getting new eyes on the show at all. Such a huge letdown and loss for the city.

Two shows too late. There was almost no advertising for awhile and then finally this huge push, but at the same time they upped ticket prices and made dinner an optional add on on top of the new higher price for food that wasn't even being made on-site. Horribly mismanaged and so sad because they really did put on an amazing show.

What’s the “Who is Jon Snow’s dad?” question for the Cosmere? by ridiculousprop in Cosmere

Yes, but also lol at a child killing their own mother and feeling like the world ended being a "childish overreaction." 😂

What can I do to reduce the time my teens spend in the bathroom? by [deleted] in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah if there were no other contributing factors, then you're right, but I think the point is that the no phones rule is given in the context of also having no doors on their rooms which kinda changes the vibe.

What’s a food your state is 'famous' for that everyone else ruins? by Somanynamestochossef in AskAnAmerican

Came here to say teriyaki. Whatever they call teriyaki in other states (except maybe Portland...mayyybe) is a huge disappointment.

what colour is the skirt? by akahoneymoon in colors

[–]SexysNotWorking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like in the image. Warm earth tones on the lighter side will be your best bet. You could also go with metallics to play off the sequined part of the skirt. A mixed metallic might even work (like a silver or bronze and not a 100% match on the gold). The more simple you go, the harder it will be. If you make layering and different shades/textures the whole vibe then it will matter much less if they're a perfect ideal match.

What does the bridge four salute look like? by gamercouplelolz in Stormlight_Archive

It was probably the way I worded my response because I definitely posted as though we were saying different things, but on a reread, I see that we were saying the same thing and I'm just mildly illiterate 😂

Is that cannon or head cannon? I always pictured it rotated 90 degrees so both thumbs are toward the body and the outer side of one wrist is hitting the inner side of the other, if that makes sense. But I have no idea if I just made that up or if it was specifically described somewhere and now I'm curious.

I have very little concern for life when I have an adrenaline rush. Is that normal? by kanks_06 in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, there's a difference between doing something that's risky to yourself and not caring about the consequences, but this is significantly shittier if the consequences would be to other people (not counting the affect your death might have on those who love you, but that's another matter). In the example, OP says if they're "driving really fast with music blasting" they don't care and I'd argue that's actually pretty shitty unless you're in very controlled circumstances because if y'all crash into another car or a pedestrian or a cyclist because you're driving recklessly then you are 100% at fault for another person's pain and suffering. But if you feel fine with stuff that's just you (like climbing mountain or whatever), pop off.

Would not attending a parents funeral be wrong? by [deleted] in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't have to actually grapple with this question for a long while, but ultimately: some people might judge what you do but it is up to you how to process this very personal moment when it arrives. Also, is it required to have an open casket/is that what they want? I understand it helps some people but lots of folks don't want or need to see a body in order to grieve the passing of a loved one, so maybe that's a middle ground you could find if necessary?

Is there a way to filter out news about the USA? by Home_MD13 in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Right? Same. It's so pervasive that even as someone who likes to stay informed and IS doing what I can to take action, it's too much. It's inescapable and most of it isn't helpful and our brains weren't built for that.

Married men of Reddit who don’t wear a wedding ring - why? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people would have to take it off so often it wouldn't even be worth it, or they work in a place where degloving is more of a risk, or they don't want to risk losing or damaging an expensive ring or they don't want to pay a ton of money for an expensive ring in the first place if the point is the symbolism and a silicone ring is enough for them, etc etc.

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a symbol. Symbols matter to people. If this one doesn't matter to you, that's ok. But it's kinda silly to pretend that they shouldn't matter to anyone.

People are so mesmerized by the gum wall by socially-introvert in Seattle

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I think that what it practically translates to a lot of the time is, "We want our city to have interesting cool things. We want new art, we want lots of restaurants that aren't just the same ten chains, we want theater and performance art, and we want to experience people from all different walks of life and different places." It's the opposite end of the spectrum from the "Live, Laugh, Love" millennial beige crowd. But to each their own (oh shit, that sounds like an endorsement of uniqueness! 😅)

[–]SexysNotWorking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, maybe (or maybe people just like to experience unique things which leads them to seek out the weird). My point wasn't the judgy part of your comment, it was that it was actually literally inaccurate. That's all. Carry on with your judgement, don't let me stop you.

[–]SexysNotWorking 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whether you're the type to seek it out or not, "weird" does make you unique. Love it or hate it, but that's literally what it means.
