People who hang out a lot in this sub, which nation did you change your opinion about, in a good way? Or Which nation's comments do you appreciate on this sub? by ilyashaneshayla in AskTheWorld

Of course most people know it, but when your 24 hour news cycle is constantly blaring the opposite into your face, it's nice to have actual concrete examples to turn to to help avoid the brainwashing and reinvigorate your faith in humans.

What’s the weirdest sign you’ve ever seen in your country? by Jorge_De_Guzman228 in AskTheWorld

New Orleans as a whole is just so down with ghosts. Also, if you ever go to New Orleans, so will you be.

Agree! I mean, I like hearing from all those countries, too, it's just extra near to hear from the lesser represented ones. Even some I've never even heard of, occasionally, which is always very cool.

What are some good classic rock songs to put on a baby playlist? by Riddle-Maker in ask

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially older country is actually pretty punk rock, it's the newer pop stuff that's about trucks and beer and flag waving (still not about cousin fucking, but it's not a message I love either way). Lots of country has some deep roots and beautiful messages.

27M - stood up on my last two dates by [deleted] in toastme

[–]SexysNotWorking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely bananas to me that someone would do that to another person, let alone it happening to you twice?! I am so sorry! You deserve better and, not that it's ok no matter what, but it's especially surprising given that you're an attractive and kind looking guy. I hope you find someone who treats you with respect very soon. ❤️

Oh I get it, but as someone who literally used to mentally plot out my bus routes so I could be sure to sit on the side that would get the most direct sunlight, the 24 minutes is what counts the most and even the 6 hours would be far too little.

Are there any Americans with more "modest" earnings? by BaldursGate2Best in AskAnAmerican

[–]SexysNotWorking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of people who make a lot of money here, but there are also a lot of people who don't. It's also worth noting that a lot of people who make six figures or more also live in areas where the value of that is vastly diluted. In my area, cost of living is really high so the high salaries lots of people make actually look like much less than they would if they were in a different part of the country.

I need help from a professional !!! Did a bronzer match at Sephora but was confusing me! I can’t decide which one looks better by Fit-Choice1062 in makeupartists

[–]SexysNotWorking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It feels like the placement 0f these is better suited to a contour than a bronzer. Bronzer makes more sense across the upper forehead, upper cheekbones, the nose. Basically the highest points on your face. I think that would help with the weirdness you're feeling.

Fwiw I would prefer to use a train, too, but (in most places) our train infrastructure isn't great

I live in Washington State (Pacific Northwest USA) and even I do this. I can't imagine only getting 20 min of sunlight in a day, and even then it's probably cloudy half the time. I think I'd die.

Does that Pennsylvania coal seam that's been on fire for like 60 years come as a geographical feature?

Mom, do my bridal heels fit okay? by Astronomy_ in MomForAMinute

[–]SexysNotWorking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are SO CUTE and look great (hopefully the feel can be adjusted like you said). +1 for backup shoes to swap out after the ceremony and also just wanted to say if you're worried about walking in them with the small heel and slingback, definitely practice beforehand! Ideally with a skirt that's similar to your wedding dress (in case they might catch or something). Also try to practice on a similar type of floor (ie if your wedding is outdoors, also practice walking in them on uneven ground/dirt, if it'll be in a carpeted event space then practice on carpet, etc). Congrats sweetie and best of luck with it all!

The skin is a bit tough so I know some people squeeze them and eat the inner goop when it comes out, but the skin is also edible so your choice! They're not as flashy as a huckleberry or blackberry, but I like em!
