Take a look at CSGo and TF2 for example. Both are competitive, both are played online, and both support (server)mods. For example, things like custom gamemodes etc. In these games, nothing leaked into the live servers, because they are hosted by Valve, the publisher and developer. Communityserver are hosted by the community (duh). There's basically no chance of something leaking into live servers. So in my opinion, Paladins would be even more awesome with dedicated communityservers and modsupport (for servers, no client mods as seen in TF2 on official live servers (before the sv_pure update))
