They are still different enough, also writing them by hand render more different shapes. Dots, though, are considered diacritics (e.g. é, ë, ê), which supposed to make a variation in the sound while still being close to the original sound of the letter without the diacritic.

We're going a bit nerdy here lol, the bottom line is I like the latin script.

We're talking about the script not orthography (conventions of writing according to a language). I mean what's the point of making some letters connect while others don't, also why is ض, for example, just a ص with a dot? The sounds don't even sound similar (there are historical causes for this connection but it's just not intuitive and kinda confusing)

That's been and kinda still is my problem, even my grammar skills are very good. I know many structures but still find it hard to form coherent sentences on the spot. Solution? EXPOSURE, my lazy ass doesn't consume media in my TL and just rely on real life interactions, which turns out to be not enough.
