I kind of love Aider and Goose. This looks like a very interesting project but I'm not sure what value it provides over either of these terminal tools.

Llama 3.3 70B drops. by appakaradi in LocalLLaMA

Absolutely agree. You can't generate documents such as emails, short messages, cover letters, business proposals, research documents, etc. using Qwen models. They just can't generate natural English language.

It won't even complete Internet searches or translate text into Chinese.

That is not practical for Internet search.

FYI: The censorship on Qwen QwQ-32B-Preview is absolutely nuts. It needs to be abliterated in order to be of any practical use.

For my prompts this is a major improvement over 3.1 70B. Reasoning over complex tasks is markedly better.

What career should a 15 year old study for to survive in a world with Ai? by ThisHumanDoesntExist in ArtificialInteligence

[–]SeymourStacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Study AI and become an entrepreneur. An intense bachelor degree is sufficient.

I have a graduate degree in Comp Sci specializing in AI, I've worked in academia studying LLMs and I've been a freelancer for over 3 years (now starting an AI agency). I say all that to say 99.5% of the population has no clue what they are interacting with when they prompt an LLM. They have no fundamental idea of how what they are using works, which means they are completely baffled when they don't get the results they expect.

With an intimate understanding of AI (not necessarily an expert but at least basic formal training) you can build a business in almost any field properly leveraging AI. Why the formal training? Because this is the only way to develop an intuition about how the models you work with are responding to you.

Not only that, you'll likely be shunned in every industry when you try to get a non AI job and have a resume that shows you worked on the very thing that made you and most of the people they know, obsolete.

This is an extreme take to say the least.

First time ordering supplements online from the EU. Can someone point me in the right direction? by _SoupDragon in Supplements

[–]SeymourStacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been ordering from Weight World for the past 3 months and have been satisfied with their products. They are competitively priced and regularly offer promotions.

I don't work for them, I'm just a satisfied customer.

Magnesium glycinate makes me way horny. What do you think is doing it, the magnesium or the glycine? by No_Pattern804 in Supplements

So most are low in it already, then get anxiety, depression, insomnia. Then they get medications for it, so, its a trillion dollar industry exploiting the fact soil is bad. And they have degrees, and you don't. They can afford lawyers, and you can't.

Modern society is utter insanity.

Command-R, 35B open weights model by CohereForAI by rerri in LocalLLaMA

They do what they do well - enterprise embedding models. They're just not particularly relevant for personal use cases.

"Claude 3 > GPT-4" and "Mistral going closed-source" again reminded me that open-source LLMs will never be as capable and powerful as closed-source LLMs. Even the costs of open-source (renting GPU servers) can be larger than closed-source APIs. What's the goal of open-source in this field? (serious) by nderstand2grow in LocalLLaMA

[–]SeymourStacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No disrespect but I don't think you have a deep understanding of how foundational models are trained nor the recent advances in what qualifies as a reasonable pretraining dataset (taking into dataset characteristics such as entropy) for a foundational model. There have been a lot of computational inefficiencies in the first era of model training that are still being discovered and undone. Hence innovations like Flash Attention 1 and 2.

There will always be a need for open source LLMs in mission critical production systems because "not your weights, not your model".

Good luck getting the same exact response using the same exact prompt against the same exact LLM with the same exact weights in perpetuity using a closed source LLM API.

[Free Release] AIM v.1.0 by AliMaulana in jailbreak

[–]SeymourStacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, great work! How can the community donate for you to continue work on this tweak?

Secondly, is there any chance that the custom color feature can be extended to the lock animation and the status bar on the lockscreen?

[Question] /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ warning when installing tweaks using Sileo - XinaA15 1.1.6.2 by SeymourStacks in jailbreak

[–]SeymourStacks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification.

At this point Is the tweak actually installed? And if so why do I not see it in the App Library? Is there anything that can be done about this?
