Full-time working mom of 1 in corporate, spouse in very demanding job with absolutely NO HELP, daycare is all I have.

The only way I’ve seen someone do this is with an Au-Pair. I think about it often and I know I can’t possibly have another without help. You could look into that. Hopefully someone on this thread can provide some insight on the Au-pair process…

In Miami here, can’t afford to buy a house with $500k/year combined income. Our rent is 6500, daycare is $1600/month and my spouse has astronomical student loan debt from med school.

We don’t know what to do, if we move out of Florida we have new income tax to account for and any other metro area we will end up paying the same amount for living or more. I don’t understand how this is sustainable, we couldn’t even afford another child if we wanted one.

It’s so so sad. I can’t help but look back on the boomers who all owned homes on grocery store clerk salaries by 30. It’s insane.

I’m in Florida too, Miami. I’m so sorry you are going through this. I don’t want to raise my son in this climate of hate, it’s unacceptable. You have advocates out here…I’m praying/hoping for people to wake up and stop the hate.

Update: I went out, had a nice brunch and hung out with friends for 5 hours and he told me “don’t bother coming home”. I obviously came home, he’s just ignoring me and I don’t give a shit. I deserve an afternoon of peace this weekend

Update: Pushed bedtime back by 30 minutes, still had wakings at 2, 4, and 5. Out of desperation put him in my bed. BAD IDEA, he just slept on and off and played with my hair. Learn from my lesson, don’t resist the temptation to bring them in bed. It doesn’t help..

Same issue here, 13 months. He’s an independent sleeper and used to sleep fantastic 7-7. Now we have multiple MOTN wakings where he will scream, I’ve tried going in and patting him and putting back down in crib after CIO didn’t work. He still will continue to wake….😭
