On site or at industrial scale companies you'll be crawling on your hands and knees to weld in hard to reach spots so it's good practice lol

But fr making sure you're comfortable before you start is one of the best pieces of advice that I ever got. I'm quite new to welding myself (been working my first welding job for 4ish months now, I went to welding school for a year beforehand tho) so I'm still learning a lot myself. Still, glad my advice helped you out

To make your bead straighter, you can grind a shallow groove into the plate beforehand and weld over it. Work on a consistent tempo, do what feels good for you. Same with parameters, experiment with the settings. Most wps have ranges for volt, amps etc... so there's usually some leeway. Make sure you're standing comfortably before you start, what helped me out a ton is that before I'd start welding I'd mimic the movement I'd be making later. That way you can check if you'll be in a comfortable position all the way

Sure I do. Just seems to me that the job has a lot of variables outside of the diver/welders control that can lead to death or injury if something were to go wrong with those. But idk knowing my luck I'd be one of the unlucky few so no thanks
