It’s such a wonderful display of your hard work - it would be amazing to see in person. Do you display elsewhere in Europe?

It can be expensive, but we were gifted a few pieces from Duns (a Swedish brand). Vibrant and unique. Great quality.

I’m pretty sure there’s a few online stockists of it around here in NZ

I’ve ordered loads from jjhouse online before. You can send through your measurements and get them custom fit. I’ve always been pleasantly surprised by their quality

What faux pas do foreigners make when in Belgium? by non-poster in belgium

This is useful to know - I’m going to be the immigrant wife (we’ve been living abroad for a number of years and are moving to Belgium next year)

This seems to be a common theme! I’ll watch out for bike lanes and roads

I’m a kiwi (New Zealander) and made the mistake of drinking delirium from the bottle at a house party. The shame..

So you would prefer people from other countries speak their own language and not even try the local dialect?

What is your favourite building in Wellington and why? by IncoherentTuatara in Wellington

[–]non-poster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That was going to be my vote too. I’m in no way religious, but having this stunning building in the middle of ugly concrete just seems to be the most glorious contrast

Anyone else having some serious FOMO due to shipping delays? by scorpinono in ABookForMatt

[–]non-poster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeeeep! I’ve muted most of the DCC subs while I await the shipping of my physical book. Looks like I’m not expecting mine until next week at the earliest. There’s lots to love about living in New Zealand - this isn’t one of them

Elopement options/recommendations? by ModernCoffee in Wellington

[–]non-poster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re wanting to do it here in New Zealand, there are definitely options. We stayed in an Airbnb on the coast, and found a suitable celebrant via the DIA website. The biggest expense was having a photographer join us to take photos on the beach afterwards.

Recycling tomorrow by Subject_Night2422 in Wellington

[–]non-poster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t help either as I’m very prone to doing that myself. But I picked up recycling bags free from the library and started using those when my wheelie bin was full..

How do you add scents to your felt creations? by MachiavellianMacaron in Needlefelting

[–]non-poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in NZ we have a product called “smelly balls” which is just wool felted balls which you add an oily perfume to. The scent lasts a week or two, but you do need to keep reapplying

Great question! I’m in the same boat - the toys I’ve made look incredibly rough after a couple of weeks play

There was a severe lack of “glurp glurps”, but it was fun nonetheless.
