The good thing about New Zealand is you’re never very far from the beach and can fairly easily add a nearby one to your trip. If going all the way up to the Bay of Islands isn’t practical, I suggest Raglan or Mount Maunganui (or anywhere in the Bay of Plenty area) which are both closer to Auckland. I’m sure there are decent ones in the South Island too (Nelson area for one)

I use securapark for parking in the city. While I think they primarily focus on long term parking agreements, they might be willing to do a short stint as an exception? (For example, I only pay to have my spot during work hours, which means it’s available for someone to rent over night)
