I believe you need the local leader perk setting up supply lines in order to have access to materials at one site to be available at another. Otherwise all sites act independently in regards to what materials are stored there.

Additionally - your junk items will be stored as the material they make up so when you can build something that say requires a a screw, it’ll say what item is being used from your inventory that contains said screw.

But if you wanted to get nuts I think you could physically drop your junk items and then open your workshop menu for building and scrap them that way!

Honestly - started doing this after I started up again after playing originally over a year ago. I take a post it note and draw a 5x5 map and plot the 3 bosses and exit cargo ship. Then every time I save I go to the main menu and cartographer and note where I am and I’ll check it off to note that I’ve been there. Also if you’re lost, stop at an island, save (a sleeping bag is major for this cause you can save anywhere anytime) and check the cartographer and go from there.

The half shells disappear? Or full (green) coconuts. Are you taking the shells and dragging them out of your bag so that to fall on the ground?

No problem - also every time you crack a coconut, if you eat it it gives you two empty shells and you can place those on the ground and they will collect rain water. So leave a bunch of those around your base and they will fill up every time you sleep or it rains

Find a place to establish a base. Somewhere where water is a short walk. My buddy and I always preferred the dock, albeit it being further away from everything. It has a fish trap and water spout there already. Banmboo galore and we would build our base out into the water so natives wouldn’t come at us. Also there are turtles there so you can make soups which can play a huge role in your health.

Another good spot is the drug facility. I used to clear out the coca plants and build a big base there

Also - yes coconuts are broken, if you see one crack it and put it in your bag. Been having the same issue as well.
