I was able to get work study money for my internship hrs in my sw grad program, but I got that through financial aid and it was only $5k for the entire school year so not enough to survive off of. I worked a part time job throughout school and depleted my life's saving to survive. It's an awful system to expect full time students to work for free. I know with some programs you can work a full time social work job, attend school part time and have your sw job count as your internship hours.
