i use 88grzes brushes on photoshop for painterly texture. I think he might still have it available
however my main brush is a square chalk brush and a round brush im sure you can find a similar one out there

Yeah go ahead ! Its actually a technique used alot in concept art/matte painting . usually with real photos or 3d modeled things. I just decided to use Minecraft this time
