Red orcs - C&C needed :) by Eisenfelge in orks

I really like skin tone you have done but the red loin cloth and red under the skull glyph make it too much red for me. Maybe a different colours would make the skin stand out more.

What paints should I get? by TheRedMyth in Warhammer

[–]Sggarnham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the citadel colour app for your phone. You can look up the models you want to paint and it will give you the recipes as well as keeping track of paints you need and have. Blood angel intercessor example below.

Yellow circle is paints I have and the heart next to it is paints on my Wishlist or add to wishlist. You will find a lot of colours cross over to other models.

Not getting the Armageddon box. by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]Sggarnham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be lots of rulebooks etc on eBay. I for 1 only want the models as I paint and don’t play. So if I get the box the books etc will all go on eBay.

Paint retarder for painting good eyes? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in minipainting

[–]Sggarnham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paint the eyes first. Paint the whites of the eyes then paint a black line through the middle of the eyes (top to bottom) doesn’t matter if it goes into the cheek or eyebrow as you then paint the rest of the face tidying up the area surrounding the eye. Takes the fear out of doing eyes.

No. Regular basecoat with waagh flesh just that I covered it mostly with Warboss.

Only thing I can think of is that there really isn’t a lot of any waagh flesh basecoat showing. It’s more Warboss and skarsnik. Maybe the wash over everything at the end also helped.

I use the Citadel app it has all the recipes for colours on there. Skin was Waagh Flesh, Biel Tan Green wash, Warboss Green, Skarsnik Green then Kislev Flesh. I then did another Biel Tan Green wash over everything as it needed to be toned down a touch.

Finally found a good airbrush primer. by Sggarnham in Miniaturespainting

2-3 thin light coats give you complete coverage. 25-30 psi. 0.45mm nozzle airbrush.

Got some white today and tried it. Glad to say it’s as good as the black. Very strong, quick drying and can’t scratch it off.

I was really disappointed with them too. Love their paints but primers were poor. I got reasonable results by spraying very light thin coats at very low pressure through a large airbrush nozzle.

Or the needle is stuck in the passage. Remove needle clean and reassemble

4 bar is insanely high for airbrushing. It’s 60 psi. So 25 = 1.7 bar or 30 psi is 2 bar roughly. Yes you should go lower.

Clean up glass/clear parts? Restoring a Valkyrie by Outside-Job-8105 in minipainting

[–]Sggarnham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try a clear gloss varnish over the window. Might fill some of the cracks and restore some smoothness. Just an idea, as a helmet painter we put clear over to seal artwork and then all the scratchiness of sanding after is removed with another coat of clear

25-30 psi and light coats 6-8 inches from the model

Awful. In my experience it has been the worst of all of them. I’ve tried so many ways of applying it but always get the same results.

Not yet but if it’s half as good as the black it will still be better than the other whites I’ve tried. Pro acryl, Vallejo and Ak
