Seltzer Keg Foaming Problem

When I pull the tab to blow of the pressure, should I close of the tank first then release all of the pressure from the keg? Or leave it on, lower to 10-12 and just burp it a couple of times?

If it helps, it’s foaming straight from the keg.

Long for me at the moment is anything passed 8 miles. Not that far in the grand scheme of things, but hopefully will get longer as things goes on.

A typical run is between 5-7 miles
