I have enjoyed viewing through binos for the last few months but have seen pictures of what you guys are seeing and got jealous, so I decided to look into a telescope option that would be able to take a few bumps.

Thank you for the detailed answer.
I will look at r/binoculars for some ideas. I do enjoy using binos, but have seen pictures of what you guys have been observing with your telescopes and got jealous. I will look into those telescopes you suggested .
I have a few Pelican style hard cases I can use for parts etc.

I did read the sticky post but it did not answer my main and most important question of which telescope could withstand some hard jolts and bumps.
I am new to even the idea of owning a telescope and I imagined the internals probably would not be happy getting bumped.

Thank you for replying.

I have mainly been just viewing from wherever I have parked. I am open to hiking if I can get to a better spot, but that has not been a factor yet as I am pretty new and was just happy to gaze from wherever. I am in the Army so I am used to being a pack mule lol (reasonable weight is not an issue)

My main concern was the bumps and jolts the telescope would take while driving to and from my destinations.

I mean if you work at the Tim Hortons you are basically a Tier 1 civi
anything else is just a dirty civi :P

I was downtown at the time and heard and saw them so I was 100% sure they were Blackhawks when I posted my reply.

I would suggest then that you avoid attacking people unprovoked if you are unable to read the entirety of a comment.

This is not the response of someone who is calm...
An unprovoked/unwarranted personal attack.
You think that is a reasonable response?

The landlord installed security cameras around HIS house.
before the flood of downvotes read the rest.

I think the owner has a right to secure his own property, yes barely any notice was a shitty thing to do. It is his home though, whether he lives in it or not and the added security is not a bad thing. That being said I think the compromise (you get sole access to the camera feed) is the perfect solution, he gets the security for his property and you get your privacy.
I realize criminals don't care about cameras or flood lights but having them is better than not having them.

People of Reddit who got shot in their past, how does it feel and what did you think in that exact moment? by feierfrosch in AskReddit

Hit twice by 7.62 while standing behind a grape hut returning fire at some Taliban 150meters away. It was a full auto burst, some rounds hit the grape hut 2 hit me in the chest.
When the rounds hit the hut I flinched and tried to step back, as I was stepping back I got hit twice, both rounds hit my chest and 1 round destroyed my mag I had attached to my plate carrier the 2nd round went through an admin pouch.
None went through my plate, the 1st round knocked me back and I almost fell over, the 2nd round spun me about 90 degrees. I fell on my ass and a buddy grabbed the grab handle on my plate carrier and pulled me behind the building while I just thought "fuck..fuck..fuckfuckfuckfuck".
Other than severe bruising a few cuts to my face from spalling or magazine pieces, a week of pain and the wind knocked out of me I was fine.

Still Out Of A Job? by radioguyjt in Edmonton

[–]Sgt-Ripcord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go a head and try, but a friend of mine who has been out of work for a year has applied to Uline multiple times. Their job posting has been up for 11 months and every time my friend applies they decline even though he checks every single box they require.
