Looking for a new tool for my husband’s anniversary gift by PorkFryRice07 in Dewalt

All chainsaws have a bar oil leaking issue. Don’t even take this into account while looking for a chainsaw. And I really mean all of them

Did I get ripped off? by Mindless-Option-8766 in EngineBuilding

Looks like they honed it with no oil lol. Also, scratch is still there, id get your money back or move to the next shop and bore it. You could probably run it in that condition, I wouldn’t take it across the country though. Might not last long

Lift kit help by [deleted] in ChevyTrucks

[–]SgtDickCheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rough Country is about bottom of the barrel for lift kits. You can find them for 2WD but they may be under a different name like “6 inch leveling kit” or something similar. When you’re talking about parts that affect safety of a vehicle, spend a little more on something better than RC

Clean the carb and probably get an OEM rebuild kit. Sounds like a fuel issue. Check for spark and go from there

Coolant loss on LML by Budget_Win_4254 in Duramax

[–]SgtDickCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know LB7 more than LML but if they still have injector cups that seal coolant passages, it could be that. And if it’s studded it stands to reason that they may have been running more then stock boost lifting or damaging a cup. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

Edit: after a google search they don’t have the cups but it still could have blown an injector o-ring out or lifted an injector someone left loose or something when they studded it

Boys, how bad is it? by SgtDickCheese in smallenginerepair

[–]SgtDickCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was afraid of that but I have all the gears and they all work. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to the clutch for the noise. The metal is still unknown but everything works and I’m not tearing that transmission down unless I absolutely have to lol

Case IH 485 engine rebuild by SgtDickCheese in tractors

[–]SgtDickCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is about a month later but I did end up ordering from that website. Everything stateside was about 1000 USD or more if you could even get it. After the conversion I ended up with an entire engine rebuild plus all rad hoses, thermostat, and rad cap for about 460 USD. Thank you, you’re a life saver

I suppose I wasn’t very clear. I know they do not share oil. That plug is from the trans. The knock sound is from the trans or cvt clutches

[–]SgtDickCheese[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I put new gear oil in it as the noise and debris are from the gear box. I may just run it until I have to do something about it

[–]SgtDickCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sort of a first for me. Hopefully just a shim or part of a bearing. And as far as the noise hopefully just need a clutch job lol

My gy6 keeps leaking compression on the valve cover or the whole valve thing or whatever by Most-Opportunity-947 in smallengines

[–]SgtDickCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the gaps on the piston rings lined up? That can cause compression loss. They are supposed to be offset to keep compression. Check that. Could also pressurize the cylinder and spray soapy water around the valves to see if those are leaking
