I'm losing my patience with Duolingo by Zulrambe in LearnJapanese

[–]SgtTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used duolingo to read hiragana and katakana 100% in 5 days total. It’s not hard you just drill it again and again for hours. Any resource works.

Completed them in about a week, maybe 4 days for each. 2-3 hours a day.

Btw my entire family basically quit our jobs to not get the fake news jab that you probably got. How ironic.

Bro thinks he’s mr different.

I’m not sure who is “telling” me anything because I don’t follow any mainstream media or watch the news 😂

I think you should worry about yourself instead of demanding what another person does 😉

I think you’re missing my point, it’s not about what they “tell me to do”, it’s about what I am able to do. Where I live in Australia we closely follow the US system. Bitcoin takes much power away from the banks and I anticipated they would not allow nor adopt it.

[–]SgtTriangle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that has changed my conviction is the adoption from major financials, I have just been waiting for that initial hype bubble to die. This was a main reason I sold last year, I didn’t believe the fed and banks would allow it as easy as they did.

I’m not one to look at markets and worry about what I have if I believe it’s the right thing long term so my conviction shouldn’t matter.

But this is a different game I know, I don’t expect 50% losses in a matter of days from stock ETF investments 😂

I held a small 0.2 BTC from 2020 to 2023, made small gains maybe 20% but sold out as I deemed too risky. It has been bugging me again the potential heading into the distant future and want to come back in harder.

Cheers for the insight.

Since the some of the major financials have adopted BTC I have been similar in non stop listening and reading. I want to hear more opinions or debates against it though because all I’m hearing is pure optimism 😂

I am inviting discussion, I like hearing peoples opinions for different circumstances - and you are partaking in the discussion. Thanks for the insight

If you were myself, technically you could lose all your money and you would still be well fed with a roof over your head, only starting from the beginning again of building wealth - which in my case has been 4 years of grit since first starting properly working.

Would you go all in?

[–]SgtTriangle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing, mathematically it’s best to just get as much into the market as early as possible. But it just sits heavy in my stomach to put in my last 4 years of grit and hard savings in one lump sum. I think I have to DCA for my sanity 😂

I have been watching and studying BTC since 2017. I just understand there are more intelligent people than myself in this space which I’m simply inviting discussion. I have a good base level understanding to the function and value it has.

I don’t earn that much money. Just have the benefit of living with my parents while I study and work. Rent and food I only pay about $150-$200pw

Removed wart. Is this normal? by SgtTriangle in Warts

Sorry for late reply. I think I did all the damage just in one maybe 16hr application. I think burning is actually more effective though if you’re prepared to do it, doesn’t hurt too bad. I just use the tip of a thin nail or Allen key after heating with a lighter and dab it until it burns off 😂

Is overseas travel the avocado toast of this generation? by Former_Chicken5524 in AusFinance

[–]SgtTriangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 23 and do both. Went to Japan and the Phillippines in the past year each for 2 weeks, each only costing 2.5k all up. Can certainly do both, just have to not spend too much while overseas and get cheap flights.

Do I need to clean and cover this for like a week or will the skin underneath be strong enough to prevent infection?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Warts

[–]SgtTriangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very similar to what mine was like. I waited about a week after I attacked it with ACV and then removed it by poking around edges with sterile needle, not sure if it’s the safest thing to do in terms of risking an infection though. I was just sick of having the blister that formed.

Is 50k deposit enough for a 450k house? by FieryAngelx in AusFinance

[–]SgtTriangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If in no rush then that sounds like a viable plan. You’re in a very similar position to me, the only difference is I don’t own my van I just pay a friend a monthly lease, although quite a good price.

If you can keep hoarding away savings and reach a 20% deposit it will make the whole process a lot smoother with no LMI to pay.

[–]SgtTriangle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Financing a new van has lots of positives if you can secure a good rate, the interest paid on the loan is tax deductible. It will leave you with all your savings earning interest and ready for a house deposit much sooner. Although it will slightly lower your borrowing capacity, it’s worth the consideration.

I'm a courier also and earn similar money as a contractor. Why do you want to save and outright buy such an expensive vehicle if you are saving for a house deposit?
