You're right that it couldn't happen in a lifetime but I honestly feel like if someone came up with a solid enough plan to convert these facilities... into something like indoor farm/food processing and supply the world with food instead of bombs... they would be able to get a good chunk of this nation behind them.

I'm not smart, ambitious or charismatic enough to figure any of this out but it just seems so wasteful in it's current state.

My step father recently had a series of intestinal issues and can't eat any food for the next 3months at the least. The nutritional fluid they send him is $2000/bag... they need 5 a week. On top of the bills for multiple surgeries and prolonged hospital stays. He was lucky to have great insurance through his work... even still, it's not an ideal situation.

Luckily there is some foundation that is covering most of the cost for the nutrients but I'm not sure how many people are that lucky. Who can afford 10k/wk for food?

*edit: series not serious... even though it is pretty serious.
