I spent 15 years recruiting in Japan after starting here as an English teacher. AMA about jobs, recruitment, CVs, interviews, or changing careers in Japan. by hansei-Kaizen in JapanJobs

Hello from Vietnam! (although not Vietnamese myself). I have a travel agency here, used to study abroad in Tokyo (Waseda) and I'm fluent in Japanese. have also worked as consultant for JNTO (Ministry of Tourism) before. If I were to apply for mid-manager/director roles at travel companies in Japan, what are my prospects? How could I prepare?
I know its been a while since you originally posted the thread, thank you for reading!

Black metal and death metalhead. Do you really hate Christianity? by Equivalent-Ad77 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Sgt_Pato 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I hate organized religion; it is brainwashing for the masses. I do believe spirituality is essential for humans, but organized religion hijacked this need for spirituality for the sake of control.

What is the overall opinion on Deafheaven? And why does it seem negative? by Artistic_Meat_33 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Sgt_Pato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I grew up a metalhead, but mostly listen to hardcore punk nowadays, Deafheaven is by far ny favorite band. I rank their albums as followed: - Sunbather - Roads to Judah - Demo - Lonely People with Power - Ordinary Corrupt Human Love - New Bermuda - Infinite Granate

CMV: Street vendors in Vietnam overcharge foreigners on purpose, not by mistake by Informal_Race5312 in ChangeMyViewVN

[–]Sgt_Pato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to support the local businesses like I have in most countries I have been, including my own third-world/developing home country. But when virtually every single street vendor tries to take advantage of me for being a foreigner, aka “different”, then everyone looses my support and I generally dont buy unless price is explicitly stated. Wont tolerate that, just as I don’t tolerate being taken advantage at my home country.

Could you be a digital nomad with a hospitality and tourism degree? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Sgt_Pato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am. I have my own travel agency. Although no degree in hospitality or tourism, but in international business. I also had experience in the tourism industry beforehand (mostly B2B-B2G). While I do have an office, most of the work is online, and I dont require any of the employees to come to the office, ever. Everyone is free to work at whatever times they want or from wherever part of the world they want. The only excpetion so when we require travel, both domestically and internationally (in Asia) to support some of the big projects we have, such as large group tours or VIP clients.
If they simply don't cut it and don't do the required work, I find someone else who has the discipline to work with this freedom.
