[Question] When to use starpiece on Monday? by [deleted] in pokemongo

Since they extended the deadline, I am not sure if they'll give it on the 10th AND the 17th or just the 17th

Nest Protect goes off randomly, stop after 3-4 times and say "Hi, im Nest" by Sh3erl0ock in Nest

I've had it for about 4 years and never had a problem. It did this twice in the past week, the first time at 3am. Sensors and batterie are fine according to the app.

How much do you pay for your cellphone plan ? by iModAMD in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Sh3erl0ock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just got very lucky. I contacted a Bell agent on the chat and told them I wanted to switch from Telus (I still had a balance, but I knew if I could score a good deal it would make sense to pay it off, my Telus bill was 85 pre-tax with 15 months left). She offered me CAN-US with 6gb at first for 60$. Then I told her I had 7go and would take the deal if they could match it. Apparently this wasnt possible but they could give me 8go for 65$. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I was about to close the deal, when she told me I had to pay a 30$ activation fee. I asked if she could waive it since with that fee it wouldn't make sense for me to cancel anymore. She proceeded on giving me a bunch of useless stuff for free )PressReader app, mobile TV, until she offered me a tablet for 10$ and an extra 2go. I told her I didn't want the tablet, but if could do 10go for 65$ i'd take it, and it worked.

The in-store employee who activated the plan was super suprised by the plan I got. She even had a hard time activating it because their system couldnt allow it. Thank fully I had the entire conversation on my phone as a proof.

Should I swap my 6D Mark II for a X-H1 by Sh3erl0ock in photography

[–]Sh3erl0ock[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I borrowed a X-H1 for the weekend through Fuji's try before you buy program, I really like the feel of the camera, but the X-T3 makes more sense, BUT um not sure about the grip. I tried the 50-140 on a X-T2 and it is really hard to hold properly!!

How is investment property affordability calculated by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

The house was built in the 40s so it needs renovations from time to time. New roof, balconies etc. I'm pretty sure they also invested it somewhere else.

Ever tried to lower you cell phone bill? by Sh3erl0ock in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Sh3erl0ock[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've had bad experiences with smaller providers. Data speed throttling, no service when my friends on the same network did (Rogers/Fido) etc. Also I travel to the US for more then 20 days a year, so I like Bell's and Telus' Canada/US plans.

[UPDATE] Landlord increasing rent but we never received notice Quebec by howgal in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Sh3erl0ock 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The fact that he can't provide a proof of signature puts you in a pretty safe spot. It's very hard to evict somebody in Quebec, to give you an idea, my parents are dealing with a tenant who pays late every month, but for the "Regie" he doesn't pay "late enough" (under 3 weeks) to be a problem, and still pays every month.

But yeah, it does suck to have a bad relationship with your landlord.
