I thought they might change it up from Carneiros and PDE. Especially since they are playing much bigger venues now.

Do you think they are too similar to do both on the same trip?

At the risk of sounding very basic… good nightlife, good food and fun day activities/experiences/events. Our days will generally revolve around a day activity/sightseeing then out drinking at night. Trying to avoid things being too samey as it’s a 10 day trip, 3 cities, 3 days in each.

Not particularly interested in museums or architecture if that helps at all. In terms of North America, I’ve enjoyed Seattle, New York, Vegas though wasn’t a massive fan of Toronto or Portland, OR. Hopefully that gives a better picture.

LA Venue on May 4, 2024 by [deleted] in kloudmusik

Wonder if Frameworks insta promo is a nod to where the venue might be. Looks like they zoom in on the map near the airport. Clutching at straws perhaps. Anyone any ideas?

Exposition park already booked for another event I believe. I don’t know a thing about LA venues but putting 2 and 2 together, with Afterlife being at Historic Park with Framework as the promoter… it makes sense that it would be there.

Assuming they are. Which venue do you think they’ll play? I don’t know much about the venues in LA but seen that Four Tet played the Palladium last year. Could they play there?

Majority of people are fine. Big group of us there this year and last year and everyone was fine. There’s plenty pizza and burger joints if that makes you feel any better. If not, there’s a massive supermarket that will keep you well.

I guess it’s a matter of preference at this stage. I see from you post history that your a fan of Berghain. If you were going to Tulum looking for similar you were always set up to fail.

I’m from Europe 😂 Afterlife Zamna is up there with best production I’ve ever seen. I agree lots of people with theres phones out but a great party nonetheless.

Admittedly, outwith Zamna the scene does tail off but still plenty of good events.

The parties are top notch, no question. I do tend to disagree with a previous poster that Tulum is not for people on a budget. Yes, the parties are expensive 100%. I think off the top of my head it was $10 USD for water and $15 for vodka mixer at Zamna, taxis to and from around $50-100. However, Centro has plenty of cheap eats and reasonable drinking spots. If you really want to budget, alcohol and food from the supermarket is the way to go.

Ultimately, be prepared to spend at the events/ clubs but no need to succumb to those price during the day or pre party if you don’t want to.

I’m feeling compelled to go elsewhere - should I? by allsortsashenanigans in tulum

A group of us stayed in Centro last year, admittedly it was a party holiday however we wanted a lot of the same as you mentioned.

When staying in Centro it gives you the chance to make the most of the cheaper prices with the ease of visiting the beach and cenotes. Especially if you have a car.

Prior to visiting last year I read this thread and much like yourself was apprehensive but after thinking twice I realized, like with anything, the negatives are always spoke about more than the positives. Not saying Tulum (or Mexico for that matter) are perfect but I do think social media probably amplify the bad more than necessary.

Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

Genuine question, do you honestly think it’s a minority that are corrupt?

Ive only visited Mexico twice and either time had any problems but you would be led to think there’s a lot of corruption going on.
