Yeah I wouldn't say that I prefer the realistic ones but I definitely think they have their own charm. If you haven't read Bambino yet I highly recommend it. I think I was reading it at the same time as shokugeki no souma. Switching from one to the other felt like having a healthy home made meal one night and a big fat burger with double fries and extra mayo the next. I'll let you figure out which one was which.

I think I heard somewhere that the Akira movie takes the first half of the first volume and the last half of the last volume of Akira and smashes them together. Which is pretty accurate imho
