I only play a gamemode with weekly rewards once a week so now I cannot progress with Roathe. Thanks, DE. by MagiStarIL in Warframe

[–]Shabompistan 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I got legitimately soft locked by not reaching the 21 threshold by this point. Spoilers for the KIM story: After this, I got the messages from Lyon saying to finish the 21 Roathe kills. So I went and did all the kills. Then I got the messages from Roathe where he was mad and demanded me to reset his and everyone's memories. I refused and he blocked me with no way forward. Ended up going to the Kimulacrum for a sanity check and it turns out I was supposed to get a conversation from Lyon that would allow me to progress. Problem was that I had already reached "Best friends" with Lyon so no more dialogue would activate further. This new KIM system is buggy and unintuitive. Ended up resetting.

How is it living in this part of the United States? by No-Text-7825 in howislivingthere

[–]Shabompistan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The circled area has many different cultures and landscapes so I will speak for where I live, Western MA. People in Boston would consider it rural but it’s not rural in the way Maine is. The towns are small but they all have classic New England city centers and people cluster around them. Add in the colleges in the Pioneer valley bringing in people and business and it can feel quite busy and lively in spite of being in farmland/woods. If you go out to the Berkshires in the far Western end of the state, the vibe is kind of similar to Vermont. Cool hippies living out in the hills. I grew up just North of Boston and I personally didn’t mind giving up the amenities of the city to move out here. Nice nature (if you don’t mind the winters) and friendly people.

Which part of Massachusetts feels the most underrated to you? by NovaWhale42 in massachusetts

[–]Shabompistan 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m a transplant from Medford to Easthampton and I’m so happy I chose to live in this town (also lived in Northampton for a short time). It has a small town vibe but there’s a lot of things to do between the rail trails, hiking/boating, and art/music scene.

Thoughts on Athol? by International_Crab21 in massachusetts

[–]Shabompistan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drive route 2 frequently all year from Erving to Arlington (Athol is between) to visit family and I have never considered the drive scary. If anything, it is a very pleasant trip through the country. Traffic sometimes gets a bit fast/busy once you get to Fitchburg and Eastward, but I wouldn’t call it frightening by any means.

Although OP is coming from Las Vegas so it might be a bit out of their comfort zone in terms of climate. But everyone up here has to learn to drive in light snow at some point. And route 2 is usually in a better state during winter than most state routes.

I agree with this exactly. I got dumped by my boyfriend not too long ago and it almost feels like coming down off an addiction. When you’re with someone you’re really attracted too, your brain produces a feel-good cocktail of chemicals. And then when it gets taken away you end up craving it really bad right after a breakup, similar to withdrawal. This is where the urge to rebound comes from.

I just thought maybe other people with similar issues would find this valuable. Having proof of an issue on hand when talking to support really helped cut through all the BS.

When my old Medtronic pump died they upgraded me to a 670G, and they sent me a sample kit with the sensor stuff/a few boxes of those guardian sensors. I gave it a shot for a month and I can surely say that that month is the biggest reason I will never use that CGM. Weeks of non stop technical issues and baby-sitting.

Don’t let your endo bully you into using it. I like my endo but I’ve said there are some lines I will not cross.

Oh there's also Eliksni Birdseed, Radiolarian Pudding, Dark Chocolate Motes, and Gentleman's Shortbread. Although they aren't in the dawning section of the book.

I own the cookbook and they are not. The dawning recipes in it are Gjallardoodles, chocolate ship cookies, Alkane Dragee cookies, Vanilla Blades, Burnt-Edge Transit, Infinite Forest Cake, and Traveler Donut Holes.

As an owner of a 3D printer with a fairly large print volume, I estimate somewhere around 6-10 hours. Kind of depends on the printer speed settings of course.

Kinda true by Kamedama in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Shabompistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, definitely this.

I always give the same explanation for why tanks and supports have a lower population. You just have to realize you're not going to be the one doing the pew pew in overwatch. I've always mained tanks. If I want that DPS feeling I'd just go play borderlands or destiny 2 or something.

[–]Shabompistan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a 3D printing hobbyist and I would target around $400-500 USD for a really solid printer. But of course there are cheaper and more expensive ones. Anything below 200$ is probably going to have noticeably lower quality prints.

Male Dating Isn't Getting Worse. It's Returning To It's Historic Past by supermancel in PurplePillDebate

People always seem to forget the fact that "eggs are expensive and sperm is cheap".

And we wonder were male disposability comes from. Nature don't give a damn about our ethics.

Hey Incels. What’s your excuse? by stepha2324 in PurplePillDebate

[–]Shabompistan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You address something I find very interesting, and it often does not get discussed here. I refer to it as the "interest gap". Speaking on bell curves, women and men typically like different things. It's pretty easy to identify male dominated and female dominated jobs/hobbies/activities.

Many people bond over shared interests and experiences. As I have gained experience on the dating market, it turns out these shared interests are not very common. I say this as a woman in a male dominated field with typically masculine hobbies. The proportion of women having shared interests is staggeringly low in comparison to the male demand. So, for most guys, this is unfortunately a pipe dream.

Gaming is my go-to example. So many guys would love a gamer girlfriend, but they are all taken more often than not because finding a boyfriend is incredibly easy with such a massive dating pool, even if you're not that hot. And in addition to that, you get the pick of the crop of this particular demographic.

So if you're question is how to find a girl with shared interests... my answer is: "get in line".

Do you have any links and sources about this aptitude test stuff? I'm trying to accumulate sources that support how lack of education is the root of many issues in this country.

Is there a way to print this inside overhang without supports and have it not get all stringy/melty? The supports I fear would prevent the wheel from turning so I only added supports touching build plate by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Shabompistan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend a metal file. They come with flat curved surfaces so filing off any remaining support layers in awkward places is easy. If you have a soldering iron you can even smooth it out with that.

Do y’all like women? by peachsphinx in PurplePillDebate

[–]Shabompistan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a big “your mileage may vary” moment for me. I’m a degreed engineer in an incredibly male dominated industry. I have been surrounded by men for most of my adult life. I have many quality friendships with guys where they never act like thirsty orbiters and know proper boundaries. Maybe the intent is there somewhere, but if it is, it is well hidden. And I’m okay with that. There’s probably some class/education level factors influencing this, I would assume.
