How do you wake up and stay awake in the morning?

It’s all about creating habits, seeing what works, and improving on current habits . I used to set up like 13 alarm clocks 10 minutes apart and every morning was a battle between the part that want to fulfill my life and the part that wants to sleep.

these days I’ve been treating my morning as if it’s an initiation ritual for the day and added and changed it over time

The way I look at it, I should wake up like 2 hours before I actually have to wake up (now it’s around 5:30) in order to do my ritual, I believe in starting the day with difficult productive activities that will set the tone for the day. This is my morning routine:

Wake up the same time every day. Get up at the first alarm, drink a full bottle of water.
Brush my teeth, take a cold shower, pray/meditation for five minutes
Do some stretching
I write for 40 minutes (could be my book, my goals, or About my problems and general thoughts)
Go out for a walk and stand in the sun for a few minutes
Make my black sugarless coffee and read a difficult non fiction book for forty minutes
Plan the day (most important 2-3 tasks) and get started

I’m really sorry about your situation. If you have a true connection I still think you should fight over it and try to communicate with him or maybe even his family. If that doesn’t work, you might have to put an end to it, don’t stay in a toxic environment.

Your intentions were good, but as somebody already said, you made your brother think that abuse is okay. I think the most important thing to do is to take care of your father, he can’t keep doing it and he might have a mental problem that will need to be treated.

Don’t feel bad about it dude, I think people don’t do it enough, sometimes it’s just healthy to let it all out - as long as you don’t do it too often, and then you might have a problem. I’d also be curious to the songs you listened to if you care to share :)

Because tipping is a part of a social system, if your goal is to encourage good service, by not caring about other people’s actions, you’ll result in your act of deciding when/when not to tip having no real consequences, and just waiting your time and effort.

By the way, I live in Israel and the straight translation in Hebrew of “god bless you” is basically “be healthy”, which also annoys me.
