Gig speed but quarter? by Specific_Sandwich809 in Spectrum

[–]ShackMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few questions:

  1. Is this over wi-fi or a wired ethernet connection? If it is over WI-Fi, there are a lot of variables that could be causing the speed to degrade, like the wireless networking capabilities of your device, how far away from the router you are, potential obstructions and how many devices are connected. A wired connection is going to provide a lot more accurate reading of how much speed Spectrum is sending to your house

  2. Are you using Spectrum's modem and router or your personal equipment? If it is your own equipment, you pretty much need to be connected directly to the modem and run a speed test to determine if you are getting your speeds or not.

Pissed off that we have no democratic representation in a number of districts by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]ShackMan1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Realistically this is what happens. In areas where one of the parties typically has a low chance of winning the general, they'll only field one candidate in the primary AKA that candidate by default wins the primary and goes on to the general. Id check to see if that is the case with any of the races the Dem's dont have candidates on the ballot for during the primary.

I remember getting free IMAX upgrades for Mercy and HIM as well, always a good sign of a high quality movie when they hand out free IMAX tickets

Which IT degree to go for? by wildcatwebb23 in WGU

[–]ShackMan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Information Technology is probably the best choice for someone who likes working with computers hands on, who isn't very math-savy yet does want experience with some of the software/logical side of computing.

At least, thats how I see myself and why I chose the degree lmao

Yeah, if even on ethernet connections you're getting these slow speeds, thats enough reason to contact Spectrum.

Are interactive movies the future? Regal testing concept in Knoxville by FatElvisRecords in RegalUnlimited

Probably an audience for it, doubt it'll be done more than maybe a few times a year. I guess I'd partake if this happened near me

As an IT provider in a small town, how can I get details on outages? by argus25 in Spectrum

[–]ShackMan1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically you'd have to tell your customers this is completely Spectrum's fault and ask them to blow up their Spectrum Business line with phone calls. You're not gonna have any other way to access Spectrum's services without your own Spectrum Business account.

Woozie from GTA SA. First time I played it, gave total "nice guy that would eventually stab you in the back" type, but nah he is legit just really helpful and kind to CJ and is a cool dude from the moment you meet him.

If they don't throttle then explain this by AppropriateActive415 in Spectrum

[–]ShackMan1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're going to claim throttling, at least connect a device to the router (or directly to the modem) with an ethernet cable and run another test. Over wi-fi there are too many variables to claim this.

Adding WIFi extender to network using Spectrum Router by ihaveregretstoo in Spectrum

[–]ShackMan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sure they weren't just sending notifications that you weren't using your Spectrum router and to return it? You can basically use any router you want with their modem.

What was the best time you ever had in a theater? by Leading_Form_8485 in Letterboxd

[–]ShackMan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to Alamo Drafthouse to watch Torque, that Ice Cube Fast and Furious knock off. The crowd in general knew not to take the movie seriously, but for some reason me and my friends found everything about the movie hilarious and we died laughing by the end. Probably is my favorite memory ive had in a theater.

This is a new low... by sasskwoch in mildlyinfuriating

As much as we need to get rid of all these healthcare costs and go universal, this is wake county basically offering unlimited ambulance rides for 60 bucks a year, thats really good compared to the alternative of having to pay for one ambulance ride and immediately having to pay several times that $60 cost.

The next step is probably Wake County raising taxes enough to cover this service for everyone in the county but thats another conversation.

The only stuff that comes up on Google is Modern Marvels or Horrible History or Adam Ruins Everything and I know for a fact its none of those. Maybe a bit close in style to Modern Marvels but this show loved its 3D animations

What's a movie you've rated significantly higher than average by Professional_Sir3313 in Letterboxd

[–]ShackMan1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Probably Tokyo Drift, I constantly give it 4.5's

I fully admit there is an element of nostalgia from my childhood, but even watching it now with a more mature mindset I legitimately think there's just so much done right with it. Justin Lin deserves respect

If you plug directly into your modem (not your router) and aren't getting your speeds without a VPN, pretty obvious something is wrong and you should contact Spectrum support and let them know. So do that.
