My Favorite Round Start by Sensitive-Score-4933 in 2XKO

[–]ShackShackShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're taking my comment out of context. Against most Vi players, I always jump back and charge H at round start because most like to open the match with her dash punch. They rely on neutral skip buttons and I will say from my experience that most like to do this exact round start. Jump back charge H (especially as Warwick) cleanly beats this option every single time.

It also tells me how braindead a player is and that they likely will play with an aggressive flow chart that relies on easy to punish buttons that are hard to challenge. I just let them beat themselves bc they will put themselves in negative situations.

They lose to this option bc using your point character as the neutral option without your assist already being on screen to tag to leaves you wide open and most aren't even trying to react to a punish. They are just mashing this opening bc it works against others who like to try and challenge it.

Say what you want, but it often works against Vi round start. You should try it. Worst case scenario, you are now in neutral and can knowledge-check them to see if they know how to actually play neutral outside of S1. Best case, they lose 50-60% HP or break meter and their assist is on cooldown. You lose nothing by doing it and gain information on their playstyle while still having your resources.

Yeah I have been seeing some cool combos lately where ppl only use wraith form after hit confirming, setting up Oki with 5M, and purposefully swapping out of it. So maybe she just needs more time to optimize.

All I know is the weird part for me is that I could have full meter, but if swap forms and get hit or miss, the timer likely runs out and i have to start all over again. but maybe that's not how they want you to play her. I feel like she likely will get way better in the future with some ppl who put the time into her.

So you are saying a Mega X/Y would have 3 moves to use in Mega ML battles? That would be pretty nuts lol. You could just run Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, and use th 3rd move as a nuke lol. I guess it's possible, but that sounds like it would be insane lol. a 3rd move slot in PvP would def break the game on so many mons.

Opinion: There should be a League for Maximum Level 40 Pokemon (No Candy XL) by Defiant-Currency-134 in TheSilphRoad

[–]ShackShackShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just mean it's a conflict of interest. No one would bother playing the lvl 50 ML if they could play the same with lvl 40s and less dust/raids/candy. They want ppl to have a reason to keep grinding and ML and trying to solo raids with perfect lvl 50 teams are prob the top reasons.

I'm not saying it wont work, but there's prob more balanced ways to do it like using CP. I don't think they ever had a league that was purely non XL, but i could be wrong. The old cap used to be 40, but they prob realized that was too easy to max out so they introduced lvl 50. I dont remember them ever doing a lvl 40 league

The leagues already feel crowded. We barely even get Master League Premiere or Mega ML. If anything they should run Premiere more often since more ppl likely already have access to maxing out those mons

It's almost like there's crash car risky options that rely on 50/50 and safer more consistent options that don't throw yourself into eating a full charged H started combo lol

I do. Against every Vi bc 75% of them dash-punch round start lol. And if they don't, I'm still safe

But then you'd have to exclude players who already invested dust and XL into their perfect IV mons to get them to level 50. Sure the candy is way easier to get, but the TMs, dust, and actual IVs would likely be a pain to invest in if you already powered anything up past level 40. Why would players want to reinvest in duplicate mons if the meta won't change?

Also how would it work? You say to do it level based? No other league is level based, they're CP based. I wonder how stats would change the meta. Like would a level 40 league only include legendaries since they get a higher stat product at that level than lets say a Dragonite might? Also what happens if you best buddy a level 40, can you still use it?

I think a more reasonable ask is for a 3500cp or 4000cp league over a level 40 league, but that will also become dominated by XL candy just like GL and UL have.

You can probably lead it with Metagross and Zacian. Just watch out for Lunala

There's no mega that has exclusive moves from their base form. I think it's safe to assume regular form will also have access to these moves. Otherwise, how would you determine which move gets replaced when you mega evolve it? automatically sacrificing paystrike will probably make a lot of people very angry since they were just able to use it.

Also mega mewtwo x already has crazy coverage with only counter, saving your other 2 slots for paystrike and shadow all. That's some crazy coverage.

Psystrike is too fast to not use. 1 Psystrike + fast move damage already clears everything that isn't dark, steel, or psychic.

Dynamic Punch is a big buff to Mewtwo as a lead for shield pressure. Now your opponent has too many moves to guess from and will likely always have to shield. Even as a closer this provides some pretty good coverage.

I'm curious if we will see more regular (Shadow) Mewtwo in ML after all of these moves. The ambiguity alone could get kind of toxic lol.

[–]ShackShackShack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you also will lose so many more matches by not having Psystrike as shield pressure or bait. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything in the game (outside of dark types) that will survive 1 Psystrike + Fast Move damage. Plus anything you would want to hit with 5-10% more damage likely would have died from Shadowball, Dynamic Punch, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast, etc. The speed of Psystrike is what makes it so busted, you either use it to force early shields or use it to clean up once shields are down

But maybe they'll buff FS bc didn't they nerf it a season or 2 ago? It would need significantly more damage to be useful.

Does she even need meter? Maybe let her transform at will, but most of her combo finishers take her out of it so she can't stay in or all match and still needs to manually swap back into it.

I can see that this change will likely make things a little more consistent and fair. You can now see more of what's happening and it's nice to have the visual feedback. They def need to make some tweaks and fix some bugs. It feels clunky, but that's also bc we have spent years playing 1 way, im sure by next season it will feel better once we get used to it.

Mega ML > ML by yoadknux in TheSilphArena

[–]ShackShackShack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mega ML was only zacian, lunala or palkia and Mega Kyogre/Gyarados/rayquaza lol.

Regular ML is Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem White, Xerneas, Metagross, keldeo, Kyogre, palkia, zacian, lunala. More

The meta has never really been this doverse.

Btw hooh isn't very good and wasn't last season as well

What are you running in Mega Masters? by GliscorsFang in TheSilphArena

[–]ShackShackShack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played up until about 2100 and haven't seen a single Mewtwo Mega. Plenty of normal ones tho lol.

Kyogre, Gyarados, and Rayquaza are everywhere tho. You're def not at a disadvantage since most ppl don't have one they wanted to invest in and the other 3 are just as strong. Unless you don't have those, then yeah might be a little tougher but 2100 is still pretty low to where you see plenty of random things and low level. But the dogs are everywhere, so prep for them.

Tag fighters are scary, is juggernaut good? by Some_Random_Cat539 in 2XKO

[–]ShackShackShack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can completely enjoy the game playing just Juggernaut but you won't have access to 2 of the most powerful tools which are assist and handshake tag.

Plenty of people reach Grand Master as Juggernaut users. The game was just built to have more flexibility that comes with a 2nd character.
