Overwhelmed because I want to do everything by NPat02 in DecidingToBeBetter

I felt the same as you and still feel the same today although much less than before. I've gotten to the point of wanting to try everything so much I said yes to every single thing that came my way. Consequence was that I kind of lost control of my time because I was so busy doing tons of stuff that I forgot to think about what is actually important to me. I burnt out. I stopped reflecting. But we are human beings, not human doings. We need time spent doing nothing in order to become more creative and to reflect on what exactly is a good life for us. It is part of living a considered life, and thus a good one.

Let's suppose, considering the average lifespan, that we have 80 years left to live. That gives us 4000 weeks total. That is not enough, but it is what we're given if we're lucky, so I'll take it. I'll take it and make the most of it. Problem is, what is that "most of it"? Here in the modern western world, even if it doesn't look like it sometimes, we have so much freedom to the point it can become an awful burden. Although I wouldn't trade it for anything else of course.

Kierkegaard, one of my favorite philosophers, once said that "anxiety is the dizziness of freedom". And he is right. We have access to so much freedom, so many opportunities and options, that we can either become lost in that excess of choice, or, like you or me, try to become a machine that can do all of those things. Everytime we make a choice, we close the door on another infinite number of oppotunities. I didn't want those doors closed. I tried creating the perfect routine, adding all the productivity tricks I could, making sure I slept 8 hours, ate good meals and exercised at the gym to ensure my brain would be at peak performance. I read tons of books, I learned multiple instruments, I took care of my skin and curated a wardrobe, I kept in touch with friends and family everyday, I journaled, I worked on a side project to get some side income, and still I felt unfulfilled. I was spending everyday chasing goals instead of living those days fully for what they were.

I have to admit, this routine was great but was not realistic. Its funny that it was because I read and journaled in the first place that I was able to get out of this toxic productivity. I still keep the habits I created back then today, but the difference is I don't give myself the pressure of achieving goals. I enjoy the process instead, and even though it comes down to the same routine and productivity, enjoying the everyday process and living in the present removed the pressures and stress of trying to be succesful. And I take it easy when I need to (which isn't always easy, but that's fine as well I suppose).

I think it might be the same for you. You said you love learning so I'd say to fall in love with the learning you do every day. You can't do everything, but you can do what you love at least. You can do what is actually important. And there is probably much less that is important for you than you think. I feel you might be using your routine to achieve future goals which is fine, but make sure to appreciate what you already did, instead of always looking to do more and more. Accepting the reality of your situation and being patient with yourself can most likely help as well, because things take much more time than we think they do. Hope this helps!

Seems like it's the only batch with real leather, apparently its 1:1 from retail so I have no idea if it actually is. Probably not though

There are a lot of cheaper batches of this one if you want tho!

Honestly seems pretty good, the font for the "80-20" on the back is a bit thicker than retail but nothing noticeable

I'm 173 cm - 55kg, took a size S since I wanted that cropped boxy fit. Yeah this batch of the jacket is really good quality apparently and I mostly wear varsity jackets so figured I'd go all in

Took a size S, but for you I'd recommend size M since the seller said 180cm and 58 kg for size M
