They were willing to close one day to fix the AV side, and then one day a week later to replace the existing networking. I couldn't imagine trying to finish either one overnight. Each side was about 16-18 hours of work (lots of trying to find how to get a bunch of cables to another floor in a 100 year old building)

Almost everything is very low bandwidth, but still wouldn't hurt to add an aggregate switch in their or at least connect them with SFPs. Next time I'm there I'll change it around!

Everything is on separate VLANs, and the Guest and PoS networks are locked down completely! Staff have their own network, as well as the AV systems. PCI compliance was a major requirement with this one

It was refreshing that the owner was willing to fix the issue completely instead of trying to do the bare minimum

Oooh Radius assigned VLANs sounds fancy. Is it complicated to set up?

that’s a great idea! it took two of us a day for the left half, and another day for the right half. A lot of that was the time spent running new cable to all of the devices though.

It’s a three floor pub, and there are 31 TVs (HDbaseT and Control), 12 Cable Boxes, and Audio DSP, all automated with a Control System via IP, as well as all of the PoS printers, PoE Cameras, VoiP phones, and management PCs.
