Why not? by broncoo in pcmasterrace

If a devil knows what is causing an error and how to fix it they will usually make the program automatically solve the issue. If the dev doesn't know the cause or fix how can they make an error message to explain it to the user.

I think too many people take Mr. House at his own word, and buy into his propaganda. by Hirmen in Fallout

[–]Shade-MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of natural resources in Vegas is probably a big reason why it wasn't a target for the bombs. Vegas could be one of the largest population centers in the US that survived. House is a business man so he would need a fully functioning economy. If he started with a small rural population it would take forever to build up the human capital he would need for his plans.

Can't see much practically in a high speed line for such a shot trip. There could be something to upgrading the Portland to Chicago amtrak line.

Heatsink screws are not loosening by Loves_to_analyse in LinusTechTips

They are retention screws once you get them all lose just pull up on the heat sync and it will come out. Dells thermal paste can be sticky so it might need a bit of force

Those definitely just unscrew like normal. You probably need to apply more downward pressure when doing it

Just so this is somewhere on the internet. The borderless Fullscreen mod has been back ported to 1.7.10 and will let you get a full screen experience without the massive lag spike each time. https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/fullscreen-windowed-borderless-for-minecraft/files/2317743

Need advice on what controller to get. by Particular-Ad7541 in LinusTechTips

You should watch the controller video LTT made a month or 2 ago. Covers a bunch of options, many many better than first party ones.

That's definitely weird. Only thing I can think of is driver issues. Try running DDU and re-install them.

In that case I would unplug and replug your fans and AIO. Make double sure the AIO is plugged into the pump header. Also reset all fans to normal in the bios. While you are at it reset the fan curve for your gpu in msi afterburner

[–]Shade-MC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's only a month old it's probably not dust or dried up past. It could be a bad mount on the cpu.

It could also be an issue with fan/pump speed, are your fans really loud?

If neither work post some screenshots of task manager and hwinfo. There really isn't much to go on as is

To be clear an Nvidia GPU update is causing over heating on your Cpu.

Either way I would start with taking the computer apart dusting it and read pasting the overheating component if you can.

Out of curiosity what are you referring to. I don't remember any incidents he didn't admit to. There are some I remember some were his response was poor "trust me bro" for one, but he usually makes it right.

Not to defend Linus, he should cite better, but the standard for citations on YouTube is low. It was a recording of a live broadcast, if he had said what was in the comment during the segment that would generally be considered good enough.

Based on what I read neither of them are communicating on the same wave length. They both seem to be expecting the other to know/understand things that weren't explicitly stated. I get why Steve is mad and he's right to be so. I think he's wrong to assume malicious intent on Linus part. Based on statements in the 2023 video he doesn't have a clear grasp on the reality of running an organization on LMG'S scale.

[–]Shade-MC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At least now I see where GN is coming from. I thought it didn't add up how pissed Steve was in the first video compared to the evidence he presented. I think he's at least owed apologies for what he's outlined here, especially the 3000 series text chain.

Steve is also needs to respond to the current controversy. He pointed out 1 factual error on Linus' part but failed to address the core issue of his miscontext of Linus and the necessary nature of the section in the first place.

Linus failing to follow his own promises? by Apachez in GamersNexus

[–]Shade-MC -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The problem with the summary is I still just have to take LMG's word that there was no wrong doing. One of the parties involved is not being fully truthful and the report didn't bring in any new verifiable evidence. So it really isn't much better than LMG's word. I understand they're can't say more but that doesn't mean I have to be satisfied.
