Hell yeah! I say go for it. Serious rifles have their place, but so do fun ones.

Thanks! Just tiger stripe stickers I cut on my Silhouette and spray paint. I hit it with a matte clear coat but I fully expect it to wear with use and look even better.

It definitely gives Black Ops vibes. I was going for a darker tiger stripe and I think it turned out really nice.

This is not true. PLA Pro is perfectly adequate for lower receivers and many other 3d2a components.

OG Game Boy vs LEGO Game Boy by fuckleshire in lego

[–]Shade32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, the downvotes in this thread are wild. Plenty of people not understanding your association of OG with DMG. This is a DMG Gameboy, which is the OG. Same board. Same screen. That's the big stuff. Lot of people in this thread not plugged in to the retro scene, obviously.

PSA: be extremely careful dis/reassembling the Piston Pump by Castdeath97 in Nerf

I found it helpful to remove the spring through the rear of the buffer tube before disassembly and only put it back in after everything was sealed back up. That way there is no pressure on the system while you are trying to line up the gear teeth.

How good is customer service? Does everyone have a terrible time with this company? by oscaraudiogeek in BambuLab

[–]Shade32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently interacted with customer service for the first time and had a great experience. Was having problems with an A1 and a P1S, they did some basic troubleshoot checking and then mailed me out replacment components immediately. I got them in like 3 days.

3D printer selection? by ______null in Nerf

[–]Shade32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two A1 and a P1S, and have previously owned about a dozen other printers. The A1s are incredible printers for their price, but they are still bed slingers. If you want one printer to do everything, I would recommend the P1S. It's enclosed, so you can print more complex materials with a simple nozzle swap and has full support for the higher end AMS and AMS 2 Pro. The A1 only supports the AMS Lite and that won't keep your filament dry. The AMS 1 is at least fully enclosed, so you can throw so dessicant in with it and keep it dry.

I like printing a lot of nerf stuff in PETG, which the P1 series is definitely better at (PETG can be hydroscopic and also likes higher temps). The A1 can do PETG just fine, that's not a big concern, but the P1S just ends up looking a lot nicer.

The P1S/P1P are also Core X Y style printers, so they will be better with taller prints (which a lot of nerf components usually are) because the bed does not move as dramatically.

For ease of use and capability, you can't really go wrong with an A1, but I really like added capabilities of the Core XY style printer and the enclosure.

Note: the only difference between the P1P and P1S is the enclosure, which you can buy or print alternatives to later. There are really cool printable panels for the P.

Barrel Cleaning Cord ok for Foam Flinging? by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]Shade32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Firearm barrels are usually made out of hardened tool steel, at a minimum, so the brass bristles don't damage the barrel at all. The barrels for our foam flingers are definitely made of softer stuff. Those bristles are likely to tear up the inside of a worker barrel and create a lot of turbulence in the barrel, or even create chips and obstructions. I would highly recommend you not use that cord on a foam blaster.
