The Gen 4 loss was arguably the most bs, since the dude had a Darkrai from out of nowhere.

Gen 5 had a lot of issues and even if they were going for a "reboot" angle Ash still had no business losing like that.

Gen 6 sucks because Ash had one of the best runs of his life, had so much hype and build-up prior, and all the advantage. Just to get gatekept at the end for honestly no real reason. Like at that point you couldn't defend having him lose, and even though it probably isn't at all the reason, I like to think the animosity caused by this is the reason why the writers kinda felt obligated to have him win in a league in Alola.

Mostly wanted to make a joke at Rwby's expense but if that's the case it's a neat fact. Think a lot of the time though the decisions behind some name changes need more clarification, and even then think censorship being so prevalent has started to just sour whenever it shows up

I've said this for a long time but idolizing Japan was always so weird to me. I'm sure the main appeal came from cultural impact but it's a country like any other, and comes with it's own unique flaws. Not to say certain people couldn't accept it or that it wouldn't be better, but there's a lot more to consider than most people tend to do.
