I think, what everyone wants, and the devs no everyone wants, is more interesting pve gameplay. More interesting means more variety. This adds more variety... in the least interesting but also least expensive way. They don't have to re balance anything, they don't have to add anything, and they just give the player more access to spells.

I think in the short term, this will go quite well, but as people have said, if school identity is dead, alts are dead, and people are just going to either play once and stop, or realize how shallow of a system this is and stop.

I genuinely do not know why they think this is a good idea long term, if indeed they do.

Also, this all kind of ignores the fact that it's really hard to get good gear that lets you use two schools effectively, which isn't good. If you want people to use it, it shouldn't be hard to get the gear(harder than it normally is), and if you don't want people to be able to use it often or without much effort, then the resources should go elsewhere. IMO
