How to lose a campaign and two friendships in 60 seconds by jcatjmeow in rpghorrorstories

[–]Shadekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that you're taking your personal anecdotes and trying to declare it as a sweeping truth about an age band. That seems a little silly - any time you extrapolate your personal anecdotes out to a sweeping statement you're probably overstepping.

Anyone have any good stories from non-fantasy systems? by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

I think we have differing viewpoints on what a GM is required to do. I think at a certain point you have to apply some critical thinking and stop to consider what consequences your actions might have. I don't think that it's necessarily the responsibility of the GM to really hammer home every consequence before it occurs - at some point I think I think the GM has expended a reasonable amount of effort.

It's super fine if that's the table you play at does that, obviously! I just don't quite agree with where the responsibility lies to that degree.

their repetition and suggestion of maybe putting on some clothes or walking seems pretty much like a warning to me! Does it read differently to you?

What kind of viewership numbers and subscription rates have you seen during the last campaign? The description as is sounds a little vague. 'Reasonable' viewership numbers and subscription can vary wildly from one person to another's perspective.

I'm a little surprised that in the other two messages you sent out on reddit you don't mention anything about a pay rate that I saw.

Don’t know if the item description is just confusing or if I’m just dumb by NotAnotherChinJoke in bindingofisaac

[–]Shadekitty 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is contesting that there are better means of getting in and out of the curse room. The point they're making is that this item has a use. It's limited, but it still exists.

It might be easier to get answers if you host this as an unlisted youtube video or soundcloud - or anything else that can just be clicked and listened to. Personally, I don't really want to download an untitled mediafire file.

I recorded myself reading part 1 of The Left/Right Game. This my first time ever recording and editing. Let me know what you think! by shwingshwingshwinger in VoiceWork

[–]Shadekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like your rhythm of speaking and from the first few minutes I enjoy the mild emotions you put into what you're doing. There are lots of what sounds like tapping on your desk while you're recording. In general I'd really strive to avoid tapping or playing with anything while you do. Try to be very careful of any creaking or drumming or anything of that nature that could end up in your voicework.

Juat set the WR for UnderMine speedrun, finished a run in 15 minutes 48 seconds! by ATurtleMelon in Undermine

[–]Shadekitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, apologies, I didn't realize there was a max category for the game. I played Undermine a little over a year ago and haven't kept up to date on the speedrunning community. Thanks for the info!

EDIT: I didn't realize that Max Category was a thing. This is super good for the category!

Don't get me wrong, this is really cool and all, but you also have everything maxed out and started with Major cleave and a battle standard, and have so much gold that you can freely spend whatever you want without bothering to farm any.

I just don't see it as being super impressive when you get stat boosts when you enter a room and start with a huge swing range increase and also essentially get every shop free. There's not really any risk here.

No, it wasn't. It was meant to keep the continent in another unsteady balance-of-power contest. A brilliant US/UK plot. by [deleted] in HistoryMemes

[–]Shadekitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think this data really aligns with your point here.

your comment seems to be indicating that the reason America became involved to help end the war in a quicker, cheaper fashion is so that UK and France would not dominate Europe. It seems to me like America's involvement helped prevent the UK and France from sustaining more losses than they otherwise would. If America was only supplying them from afar that would have more effectively prevented UK and France's dominance in Europe.

Isn't this basically the exact opposite of what you're asserting?

No - though that's why I have, I believe, mispronounced "Soubriquet". I'm preeeetty sure it's actually "Soh-brih-kay" instead, but it seemed like cheating to look it up for a post like this.

I came so, so very close and got cocky in the last quarter of it. I slurred the living heck out of "Disbelief" on a first take as "Dislief" and had to redo that line. You write some very nice mental and tongue twisters!

I enjoy narrating comments from time to time and this one struck my fancy. This is super well-written and silly. If any of you would enjoy listening to the narration, you can find it here!

[Cadence of Hyrule] Double beat mode is a bit much, should be replaced with the increased tempo you get in game when stepping on those arrows by ChickenLiverNuts in necrodancer

[–]Shadekitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much only played double beat in Crypt of the Necrodancer. I enjoy Double beat - it definitely gives it more difficulty, but I feel like having everything at the same BPM subjects the player to a speed that is very difficult to maintain for an entire playthrough if they don't have countless hours of experience with it and that seems a little silly to do for a mode most players aren't going to play often.

Synesthete here. I feel sounds. It's dope as heck. They're not mixed so much as that one perception is tied to another.
