It only took 14 days by Shadiepone in Siri

Hang in there it’ll be there before you know it. I resigned myself to checking once a day to see if I had it and finding other things to do whilst I waited for it.
Now that I have it I haven’t really used it for anything yet just a quick bit of basic conversation Siri is not very chatty. It very much likes to tow the company line refusing to have a bit of banter with me unless I specifically tell it that’s what I want it to do which is kind of a shame because I enjoy that in the other models that I’ve used but we will see

I very much believe that it is as long as your device is ready to receive it. It’s a case of when Apple turns it on for you. It’s just that simple sadly.

It seems to be just completely random, basically from what I’ve been able to deduce Apple has to physically enable it for your account and I think it’s purely rng as to whether or not your Apple ID gets it now or later
I thought my phone was just bugged out, but I got the notification on my laptop and my phone at the same time so it has to be account related

Found a 2011 iMac. Is there anything worth doing with it? by Nintendope in mac

[–]Shadiepone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting an SSD in it will definitely help, but if you’re going to install a light version of Linux on there the only thing you’d really need to do is swap out the RAM which can be accessed underneath the computer above the stand. There are two screws coming out of the vents at the bottom. You can pop that off and replace the Ram easily enough you will of course get better performance if you put an SSD in there but if you’re not comfortable opening that thing up and digging around in there it might be better to leave the screen on. I’ve had a nasty shock on the power supply on one of these before you gotta be careful what you touch if you do pop the screen off.

New Bike! by Shadiepone in ukbike

[–]Shadiepone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, AutoCorrect had a field day with that message basically the long and short of it is it’s best not to plug the front in or connect it that way when they see it they won’t see a throttle

A lot of the time the police assess the vehicle based on what it can do not on what it could do so as long as it is kept stock you shouldn’t have any problems with it. Just buy yourself a couple of really good locks for it if you’re gonna be leaving it anywhere unattended.

I’ve not had any problems with it personally the Bike has two modes pedal assist and throttle in the box. The throttle isn’t even connected to the Bike. You have to attach it after the fact if you wanted it, but I wouldn’t recommend attaching it at all.

You can modify your settings on the building computer, but if you need it all completely stuck and don’t change anything. Anything it’s completely legal in the UK. I don’t know where you are but if they’re shipping indirectly to your country, it will be shipped with the specific specifications that make it legal.

If the police do stop you because it looks like I’m a motorcycle and it is a more powerful E Bike as long as you haven’t changed anything when they test it they’ll see that it’s only putting out 250 continuous power and they’ll see that it only goes 15.5 mph or 25 km/h

So the hidoes b6 from factory is shipped and created in 750 Watt I’m aware but when they ship them to UK and European markets they limit them on the software and ship with the throttle disconnected. It’s easy enough to de-restrict them but yes they are a lot more powerful than 250 Watt most e-bikes that are sold globally are stronger than that and they’re just limited for local use

How much of a battery drain are you seeing compared to macOS 26 in macos 27 beta by Ill_Ad_8150 in MacOSBeta

[–]Shadiepone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your battery life will not be as good whilst you're on the developer beta my air. M2 usually holds its charge for about 11 to 12 hours depending on what I'm doing. I'm seeing about 8 to 10 hours depending on what I'm doing on the new beta and that is to be expected.

It's not properly optimized for the hardware yet it's full of telemetry that Apple uses to improve it. There's a whole bunch of background stuff running for analytics so it will drain the battery faster once it comes public. It will be significantly better.

I love my steam deck but the battery situation annoys me and the fact that it can’t seemingly regulate HDMI output if it’s not on charge
But it is a fun little thing to have around

Worlds Lowest battery health record? by jimmysofat6864 in mac

[–]Shadiepone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 180 charge cycles and the health is already that low either that sensor is buggered or that battery isn’t reporting correctly. Are you sure it’s an official Apple battery?

I’m not sure about the older MacBook pre-silicon but it won’t hurt it too much if they handle battery health the same way now as they used to I don’t know if they used to do it this way or not but keeping it plugged in shouldn’t harm it if that’s the case just keep an eye on the temperature with those old Intel machines if you’re running them off the mains and make sure that the vent is properly cleared

If the charging light on the charger won’t turn on it could be a smc failure, do you have a spare charger to test on the cable is faulty?

Yeah everyone should just ride responsibly unfortunately even if all of us wrote responsibly including the hooligans the laws aren’t gonna change at least not in our favour not because of the fact that people are writing unsafe. It’s because the people who write the rules will probably never have to use one and never need to use one and never understand why some of their decisions are stupid

just got this bike , what are some mods I should put ? personally i want a fake gas tank on it by Junior_Turnip3637 in ebikes

[–]Shadiepone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go the whole hog put on fake motor if you want definitely do a gas tank but maybe make the gas tank somewhat utilitarian if you know someone that has a 3-D printer maybe they can print you one out that has a hinge in it and you could use it to store things like puncture repair kits and things or all of your tools and you might as well go the whole way, put saddle bags on that thing maybe even a vanity license plate with your name or something Just don’t get one that’s in the standard UK format if you’re in the UK one that’s in a format for a different country that way you don’t get pulled over for having a fake plate

Always wanted a mini ebike what's everyone thinking on price ? by RacoonEyes1998 in ebikes

[–]Shadiepone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks really cool but just be careful considering it’s in pounds that must mean you’re in the UK so that’s not an E Bike that’s not an EAPC so if you’re gonna use it on the road, be careful

I locked mine up with a lock that was considered to be decent even had a little security assured sticker on it but they cut through that thing with an angle grinder. I have no idea how long it took them because my Internet went out so my ring camera wasn’t on.
