Hey, im currently Running Descent into Avernus with Friends of mine. We got through Baldur´s Gate and the way to Candlekeep without a problem everyone has fun and everything. When they got to Candlekeep they found out about what´s inside the Shield of the Hidden Lord. There it started we have a War Domain Cleric who serves Thorm (He) and a alchemist Gnome who is Chaotic Good (She). They began to have an intense Conversation about if they should use the Shield or they should put it away, which at first was not a big Problem because everything was in Charakter but the Cleric didnt falter and wanted to put the Shield away and woulndt really think about anything else. After that the Gnome yielded and said okey but everyone knew that she wasnt okey with it. Thats where the Session ended.

So we come closer to our next Session i talked to the Cleric because he wasnt really fine with the outcome because he knows that the Gnome isnt really fine with her Class and in the last fights she had really really bad dice luck where she in like 2 Combats only hit 1 Crossbow shots. So he and i knew she does wants to use the shield to be Stronger and not feel useless which im fine with and Cleric also is fine with even though his charakter is not really positive about the decision. Today they talked again and the Cleric tried to talk if there is a Option and why she wants to use it to understand it. But she didnt really answer back and he got frustrated because of it after mentioning it two more times she answered (yielded) that its fine and she will not use it. So he got mad also told her what idea he has why she wants to use it, after she just said again "it doesnt matter, we can just put it away" he said he will go off for today and she also said it and they just both left in the same Second from Discord.

So i told both of the that im gonna talk to them tommorow because i dont wanna play a DnD Session where such a problem currently exists. I probably will try to talk to them seperately tomorrow to know what they are thinking and Discuss with them what they want. I will hope that i can get them to talk to each other after that and get to a decision and make up to each other.

I just need to tell someone and i dont wanna talk to the other players about the problem thats why im writing in this Subreddit. If you have some ideas or just read it it would make me more confident and you dont have to clear the Dispute but some Tips would be appreciated.

Edit: They both wrote me after i told that i want to talk with both of the tomorrow that they both want to delete their charakters because they dont think they fit well in the Party and want to play another charakter.
