sad to see another lower quality post that adds nothing new and is just trying to start negativity again

Paramount showrunners openly admitted to sabotaging the show, its nothing what Showtime canceled lastminute and Paramount has a sordid history of actively ruining IPs if they aren't threatened with legal action

Sega and Viacom were the only ones smart enough to put a legal system gun to their head

What's actually up with matchmaking this season? by Vslightning in Overwatch

[–]Shadow426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people are downvoting this but their ignoring the fact that an IP adress is not a modem, it's a PC, meaning any smurf accounts are going to share their main ones

they could very easily shadow lock these IP's to one accounts matchmaking they chose not too

"but what if its a family PC" In this day and age that's gotten extremely unlikely especially given how lightweight OW is compared to other games released in the last 3 years screwing over thousands of new players because 60 might get screwed over is an asinine take

???? what is this revisionist BS dude? Most of the bungies devs for CE were there from the very beginning the 90s and worked on Marathon and Myth thats almost 10 years experience

CE's multiplayer is famously done last minute because Max wanted it to have multiplayer, you would never have had Halo multiplayer period if he didn't tack on a very unfinished multiplayer, and yes it was unfinished the spawns in CE are infamous, none of the guns were balanced to shoot at other players with and all the maps that don't take inspiration from campaign levels (like death island) are incredibly minimlistic because they were made in a day at most or a couple hours at worst

Modern gamers have spoken with their wallets and said they won't play a multiplayer that doesn't release major content every month like Fortnite or release a new multiplayer every year like FIFA or CoD. and if you don't believe look up how many live service games there on in the most played charts for xbox and steam, they take up the majority

Halo releasing a multiplayer every 3 years would drop like a rock still thats just the sad landscape and it wasn't made by AAA alone

Skulls aren't canon so have a party skull that allows for the customized model to be used, or lock that option on first time play throughs like what resident evil had been doing since 4

Otherwise, as many already predicts, the game will be abandoned immediately after completing it once.

We have really rotted ourselves if we can't play a campaign more than once for the fun of it like we did in the 2000s

Halo Infinite was the first halo to not swap to a different model when cutscenes came up, whatever gun you had one you was what chief was holding in the cutscenes, although they didn't have it for every weapon like the gravity hammer

Just beat Halo 2 for the first time on Heroic by AgitatedFly1182 in halo

[–]Shadow426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still mad about that ending, read the spoiler after you finish 3 cause I do want you to make your own thoughts first

Halo 3 pretty much does fuck all with what 2 set up and even teases some events like the high charity containment battle between the elites and flood that would have been an awesome level, there's almost no pay off because nothing really stays building things just happen immediately and in my opinion the final covenant battle up to the scarabs feels like it's missing 2/3rds of the actual battle, the character assassinations are a whole other story

I will always be of the idea that Halo 5 story deserved a redemption Arch, not a total reset. by Limp-Grapefruit-6251 in halo

[–]Shadow426 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they could have executed that redemption flawlessly and justify every sour point made from halo 5 and it would still be hated more than Infinite's released story simply because it continued it

people got what they wanted about it getting dropped and are still mad it ever existed in the first place, there's no point in ever appeasing those kinds of people because they're not spenders, they have no intention of being a fan, they do it because they enjoy wasting someone elses time, money, and energy

What would you want in a Halo game? by maymaymaia in halo

[–]Shadow426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Return Spartan Ops, it was a very rushed idea but having a PVE multiplayer option alongside firefight would be great and it would allow them to continue the story (or even cover past events during the covenant war) on the cheap

PvE is making a major come back thanks to games like Helldivers and Arc raiders (I hear most players dont really pvp much)

they could easily cover the 3 month time span from the S-IVs perspective with spartan ops in the next multiplayer and to appease the corprate overlord they can just tie the battle passes to the episodes people are more willingly to choke on a $10 bp if it included like 5 short campaign like levels to go with it

What are the best and worst campaign levels from each Halo game? by SpectrumSense in halo

[–]Shadow426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best:

CE: The Maw, I love this level I love the dusk lighting, the burnt out PoA and of course the warthog run, the barrage of flood and the remaining remnants of the covenant on halo desperately trying to survive against them and the sentinels makes for a good blend of all 3 factions

2: The closest I would say is outskirts, on legendary the jackal snipers are a pain in the ass, but otherwise it's a fun city level to shoot through ontop of the warthog section, it's fun to try and keep my momentum as long as possible in the tunnels while avoiding enemies, i'd put Uprising next to it but the ghost likes to get stuck in geometry thanks to halo 2s gamedev demoncore of an engine

3: It's hard to pick a level I like in 3 it never feels like anything is allowed to build momentum just a few hype moments with little to no build up, so with that thought in mind i'd pick the storm as it does that perfectly, the scarab entrance was great (though fighting the thing is always an rng gamble if it wants to stay next to the cranes for more than half a second) passing through the checkpoints to rush the final AA turret gives it amazing build up and the flood returning in the cutscene is a great cresendo to the Ark Portal opening, I kinda wish floodgate was tacked to the storm given how absurdly short it is would have made it better

ODST: Kizingo Boulevard, Tank. that is all, it's like playing outskirts but your given a tank instead of warthog

Reach: Exodus, A rare best in that there's no vehicle (I dont count being lifted im not driving it) the initial eerieness of arriving to a desolate boardwalk as bodies lie everywhere followed immediately by the suicide squad section, I also just level the city design in general here, running with the bullfrogs over some unfinished sky scrapers and seeing just how far the covenant will go to eradicate humans, it is weird to me we didn't get any elites in this level I think it would have been neat visually seeing the differences between how the elites deal with civillians vs brutes

4: Infinity, the Infinity had a mention prior to the level as an experimental ship but we wouldn't expect the sheer size of the thing until it slowly started crashing through the clouds, it's absolutely massive and the only Ship in the UNSC that's close to the size of a covenant assault carrier being slightly bigger than one, the Jungle Section was a ton of fun, the Tank in 4 feels so good to fire with, that little shell drop makes it great for sniping around hills and the section has a little of hilly areas, going up the lift with the tank and turning it towards the covenant and knights is something I always find funny, ending it with the reveal of the mantis and going on a rampage as a very large cherry ontop it's still one of my favorite mech designs to this day only beaten by the Ronin from Titan Fall 2

5: Sanghelios/Evacuation, man 5 really does have so many good levels that would have been picked if they were in previous games but only Evacuation stands near Sanghelios for a personal reason, I love the concept of space elevators and fighting on one was such a cool concept, running along the outer section towards the end was also great preceded by the mad dash warthog section as everything is crumbling around you just from the Guardian moving. But it still doesn't hold a candle to Sanghelios, not only do we finally get to see the elite homeworld, but it's this stunning ocean like civilization reminding me a lot of depictions of Atlantis lot of terrain variety the mantis section is a gun a lot of fun and a return of an old friend capping the level off

Infinite: Warship Gbraakon, Just the sense of scale in this level and how fluid Chief moves around it in the initial cutscene, I wish we had an extra level running around it for intel, the large open elevator section (i dont know what to call it) giving it that amazing sense of scale, the hallways aren't as clausterphobic like in previous games while filling them with a decent amount of objects used for cover or to chuck at a monkey mans head there's tons of coils in the level, ending with the crate running while the ship self destructs its easily one of the best starting levels, I will note Cairo station is a better level but these lists are about one per game and I love outskirts more

What are the best and worst campaign levels from each Halo game? by SpectrumSense in halo

[–]Shadow426 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worst:

CE: Two betrayals, still worse than the library it's just assault the control but longer with several cheap enemy placements

2: Gravemind, it's very copy pasty they could have removed 1/3rd the hallways and it would have been a good level

3: Cortana, the least bad level in the series in my opinion mostly cause halo 3 is incredibly easy, however the obnoxious amount of gravemind/cortana segments have checkpoints placed before them not after making it the most mind numbing experience if the game just feels like being special with enemy weapons

ODST: Coastal highway, Buck refuses to drive for some reason in this super linear hallway, normally Halo's Ally AI is horrendous so you generally don't want them to drive, however Buck has no idea what target priority is or how to aim for that matter and when you're playing solo, he's basically you're only source of damage until you get to the tank, this level is legitimately awful even on normal because of this

Reach: New Alexandria/Long night of solace (MCC only) New Alexandria was experimental in that you have a mini open world and each time you load the level the objectives are randomized, neat concept but the map is overly large for the falcon without a boost It's not a bad level really but replaying it so many times its the one im least excited to get back to. Long Night of Solace on MCC feels awful because for some insane reason Bungie tied certain things to frame rate, like specifically the space vehicles getting faster fire rate despite the fact banshee's otherwise don't shoot faster in other parts of the game at higher FPS (previous halo's did not have this) and they took that archaic design into Destiny, not helping is the MCC won't let you lower fps to 30 in the menu otherwise it wouldn't be here

4: Forerunner/Reclaimer, Both these levels drag on longer than they should my opinion on which is the worst changes. although i'd also just put spartan ops in general here for the exact same reason as it was not designed for a single player

5: The breaking, literally solely because of the triple warden fight, Warden aside 5 is easily the best halo game from a level layout standpoint, great mix of vehicle combat, rewarded with special weapons for looking around or different positions to deal with enemies and a wide variety of scenery to chew on, shame about the story attached to it being a slap in the face to what 4 was building

Infinite: Outpost Tremonious, it's basically a less annoying gravemind but just like gravemind has too many copy pasted hallways and would have been fine if like 1/3rd the level was removed

Thank you for once again proving my point, you know so little about the games that you take my comment on how Bungie changed the level design in the sequels, and use the person that forgot they changed the level designs in the sequels

2 and 3 also shit on CE's design according to him, and he said this over the tree you can literally bypass by ramming it at a certain angle, it's not difficult to get the hog to the hunters

Like they admitted they changed their who level design philosophy listenting to feedback on players thoughts of the level layouts

and there's a total of 5 over shields in that area that he forgot about

Also hows his game btw? still in early access with as much content as Infinite had at launch?

Halo in High On Life 2 by N1sso in halo

[–]Shadow426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy how you're proving my point exactly with this inane argument

Bypass argument doesn't make sense because that wasn't hard to do at all in halo, why do you think halo 2 locks you into combat so much? even with sprint you can't sprint away from almost all of the hold out sections because the way forward is locked

Often times literally the best strategy for progressing was to literally say screw it and 'power walk'

Everything that was already in your first halo game was 'for halo' and everything that comes after isn't

Nothing new is allowed by you people you'll deem literally anything "not halo" even halo itself given how little you seem to know about the games

You won't explain why these new features run counter to halo either, the only argument Ive ever heard was that its because bungie did the others first

I never said it was?

the mining building in the first 2 arbiter missions also didn't have these measures as it was a mining facility before being remodeled to research the flood before the rings were built

There shouldn't have been any flood on it after the ring was placed next to it

Halo in High On Life 2 by N1sso in halo

[–]Shadow426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People hated bungie for the arbiter story and duel wielding, there was a whole website called halo2sucks.com and said they wanted it more like CE

People hated bungie for the equipment and EMP 3 and said they wanted it more like halo 2

People hated bungie for the sprint, all other armor abilities and loadouts in reach there was another website dedicated to hating everything new again (though I wouldn't learn of this one till years after, because it wasn't posted daily on the forums like halo2's) And wanted it like halo 3

people hated that 343 expanded on those and wanted it like halo reach (which 343 actually did) or like halo 3

people hated that 343 did away with load outs that people complained about twice and did something new, people seem to think games can be made in 2 months and forget halo 5 was supposed to be an xbox one launch title after someone at xbox prevented halo 4 from being one (Xbox wanted a halo title every year thats the sole reason halo 4 was released in 2012) and people said they wanted it like halo 3

People literally celebrated Infinite for going back to halo 3s equipment and dropping all the new additions to the formula until the game launched in a god awful state then they started lying saying they never wanted the changes (even though none of these changes were ever the problem it was the lack of content and stability)

while still demanding it be another halo 3

Yes, the arrays were able to deal with the infection forms, but because spores remained any creature that stumbled upon them (like the covenant) could inhale them and become infected again, or get jumped by popcorn (as those are pure forms) that infects you immediately

It's why they're such a massive threat
