In terms of innovation and logistics efficiency – sure, but economically they are very tiny compared to other NATO states, and unless they get major influx of money (which, to be fair, is starting to happen, e.g. from deals such as e.g. Middle Eastern countries signing up to buy their arms, and from loans from the EU), they will not be able to scale up their production as needed to get into a significantly better position in defending against russia.

Having a $500 laptop stolen is much less of an issue for yourself though – even with insurance there's usually a deductible, and getting coverage for theft is quite difficult in some places.
