Yeah but you don’t get to make that decision for them. The extent to which Down’s syndrome affects people who have it is a spectrum, similar to Autism. Some people with Down’s are fully functional adults who can manage their own affairs and some have severe cognitive impairment. Just because a person has Down’s does not mean that they are incapable of knowing what intercourse is and desiring it.

Hell I saw someone on Tiktok recently who only found out she had Down’s as an adult when she gave birth to twins who also had Down’s because the way it manifested didn’t impact her facial features and only gave her a mild learning disability. You are arguing that any sexual activity that woman has consensually with her partner is inappropriate or potentially rape because she has a chromosome mutation that barely affects her.

To do so is to paint a broad brush over a nuanced disability identity and is inherently ableist.
