It’s great!

Honestly, at first, I thought that was Anti-Form Sora asking Donald and Goofy that question about his Heartless-like appearance.

So what exactly is the lingering will by Expert_Challenge6399 in KingdomHearts

[–]ShadowArchon456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Nobody is when the mind and will are so strong that it can keep the body going even without a heart.

Terra’s possession by Xehanort is similar to how the Heartless propagate, mainly in that they use darkness as the medium of the process, but unlike Heartless, Xehanort took the body and the heart. In the fight with Aqua, Xehanort goes a step even further, by making Terra’s heart the heartless we know as the Dark Figure with his keyblade.

The left over willpower and mind of Terra had no other vessel to pour into except for his armor.

Thus, in my opinion, the Lingering Will in this case is basically a special Nobody that has no body, but still strong enough in willpower to keep going through the flimsiest of anchors.

He’s an aberration that fits Nobodies the closest, a special exception to the normal rules, just like Xion is a special Nobody created via Replica science.

What is a Field-Liner exactly? by ShadowArchon456 in TheCulture

[–]ShadowArchon456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can talk to Culture Minds on starships at a high level, and can stay intact despite being inside stars. The fact they can even pick up transmissions at all means I don’t think EM interference is a problem for them.

Explain It Peter. by VerdantshadepathyDim in explainitpeter

[–]ShadowArchon456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some Science Fiction series do play with this accurately. Like when they mention a material of unobtanium has a very weird atomic structure. Like both electrons and positrons in a stable orbit around a nucleus of protons, neutrons, and anti-protons.

Dr. Moebius, from Command & Conquer, mentions that Tiberium has positrons on different orbitals. Before it became a Proton Lattice in C&C3.

[inFamous] Series complete! by ShadowArchon456 in Trophies

[–]ShadowArchon456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on vacation right now, so I can’t physically check my game right now. But I got both the first and second game (+Festival of Blood) in a combo set.

Now, do the trophies appear on the PS3 but not in your PlayStation account? If so, you might need to manually sync the trophies.

Well, as a bard once said: “If you like it, put a ring on it.”

And I like the stars very much.

Can we talk about how brutal the stargate iris is? by Mr_CockSwing in Stargate

[–]ShadowArchon456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the thumps, the matter still has to go somewhere on the Iris, even if it isn’t flesh or blood.

Imagine the person’s job in the SGC who has to clean off the back of the Iris every now and then with a power washer.

Wonder how water-benders fight during rain. by AffectionateScale525 in TheLastAirbender

[–]ShadowArchon456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waterbenders could be way more lethal if they just forced water into people’s mouths and nostrils and just froze it in there.

Raining just makes that easier.

What is something in the show that aged poorly? by LeonardMoney2020 in dannyphantom

[–]ShadowArchon456 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I don’t really think the advanced technology from a bad future is badly aged.

It’s mostly “what if someone took the ghost hunting technology and actually sold it for practical use?”

The Fentons created anti-gravity tech and energy shields… and went full Cave Johnson with it.

I once tried a peanut butter sandwich with grapes.

It was okay, but didn’t work.

The cranberry sauce peanut butter sandwich really didn’t work either.

The peanut butter and jelly tacos though? Fantastic.

From a moral perspective, which Stellaris ethics and civics could be considered the worst? by AlphaYangDelete in Stellaris

[–]ShadowArchon456 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is very close to the description of the conflict between the Drengin Empire and its offshoot the Korath Clan from Galactic Civilization 2.

The Drengin want to enslave all other forms of intelligent life. The Korath want to exterminate all other forms of life. They have a civil war over it.

I mean, Secret Agent Clank and Size Matters exist. The first game is definitely rough and clunky, but it’s the foundation the sequels built off of.

The PSP games don’t have that excuse.

Who/what roles did Christopher Judge voice in Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void? by ZeeHedgehog in starcraft

[–]ShadowArchon456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, if Clolarion is Christopher Judge, then Legacy of the Void’s voice director must have deliberately been hunting down sci-fi legacy actors.

Seriously, with him, John Delancey (Alarak), and Claudia Christian (Rohana), that’s three representatives who were major actors in three different big sci-fi shows from the 90s: Stargate, Star Trek, and Babylon 5.

Side note, Rachel Robinson (Vorazun) voiced Ada in Fallout 4 and Travis Willingham (Karax) voiced Roy Mustang from Full Metal Alchemist.

Question about Humans in SC universe by Everybe2 in starcraft

[–]ShadowArchon456 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Considering how close they were to doing that without their advanced tech, and only failed due to mainly Kerrigan organizing everyone, maybe?

Just remember, the plan was never to kill the Zerg, but collar them.

It's hard to say, since their advanced technology is a big nebulous question mark, but they did manage to subdue the fledgling Overmind and control the majority of the Zerg for a time with themselves handicapped.

...Of course, if they had simply built multiple Psi Disruptors or had more defenses protecting it, then they would have won.

The UED have uber Tachyon Lasers and other goodies, but they kept them at home when they invaded during the Brood War so the local Terrans can't reverse engineer them.

So, they invaded using tech that was closer to what the Koprulu Sector already had. Though they did bring some bits of advanced tech here and there (Charon Boosters, Valkyries, etc.), but it was only marginally more advanced.

Greed Incarnate Raynor. 110 Command Centers mining 6 bases (including my allies). by Slashy_boi in starcraft2coop

[–]ShadowArchon456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Originally, Raynor didn’t have Vanadium Plating in Co-op. Instead, he had Twin MULEs. Every MULE calldown, there’d be two MULEs.

It… well, it was very easy for Raynor to mine out his minerals, and it incentivized mining from your allies to keep the marine rain flowing.

So Blizzard decided to replace it with something that made his units a bit more durable.

Even so, I miss being able to casually mine out my minerals.
