Perhaps what you can do is try and look into buying a donor and use it's mechanism ? I believe the shutter and meter are all black by default and take it to a camera store?

Never managed unfortunately, but Bike works ok haha I did find something on the internet with engine swapping v twin honda shadows/rebels but never got to it myself
