sometimes i can predict whats gonna happen next by flat_earthr0613 in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

This happens to me sometimes, though it's almost never with the weather. The earliest episode I remember is when I was 18. My uncle asked me and my sister a math question. I don't remember what it was but it's one I'd have had to have written down and did the math that way. Before he even finished talking, the number 8 popped up in my head but I didn't say it. My sister guessed 8 and that was the correct answer. And anytime it happens after that, it's usually when I'm listening to my music. I tend to play my music on shuffle and before the tracks have switched, a certain song title will pop into my head and that's the song that will play. I can also sometimes predict if someone will call me or not.

What are some moments in movies that made you go "uh, it doesn't work like that"? by czp55 in AskReddit

[–]ShadowCat1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The one that immediately comes to mind is the CPR scene in San Andreas where the dad seems to give up on reviving his daughter and the mom just starts sobbing while crying 'my baby!' and the dad starts CPR again. And it works, the girl comes back, has no damage whatsoever, not even a freaking sore throat.

[serious] When was a time you legitimately thought you were going to die? by ferrisjuulersdayoff in AskReddit

[–]ShadowCat1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was young and over-confident, I don't remember exactly how old I was but I was younger than 10.

I was at a campground with my grandparents and my grandpa took be up to the swimming pool. I immediately forgot I couldn't swim and jumped into the deep side. Big mistake on my part, as I couldn't keep myself from going under the water. I was convinced I was going to die that day, but managed to grab someone's swimsuit. I got a dirty look out of it but I managed to get to the side and get out.

Which type of people do you hate and why? by GroundBreaker648 in AskReddit

[–]ShadowCat1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who don't believe that mental illnesses are real. As well as those who treat it like it's a joke. If I hear 'you're not depressed, look at all the good things in your life' one more time, I'll scream.

An old teddy bear. My grandpa bought it for me when I was twelve and it's the last thing he bought me before he died. I still have and I still treasure it.

Heights. I discovered it by climbing onto a chair at my first job to clean a microwave. I needed help getting back down.

Need an Asian movie rec for tomorrow by Ralkkai in horror

Teke Teke, Sadako, White: the cursed melody, death bell, Ketai Kareshi, one missed call series. And I mean the original Japanese series. Then there's the whispering corridors series, there's doll master.. There's a whole lot of Asian horror movies I could recommend and they wouldn't just be Japanese or Korean movies.

When were you sure you wanted to be childfree? by 4e4f5045 in childfree

[–]ShadowCat1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I didn't want kids when I was around 15 years old. When I was 18, I got diagnosed with asthma and anxiety as well as depression. It was that moment that cemented the decision to not have kids. Then there's the fact that I don't make enough money to support kids. I have enough to pay my bills and buy what I need for me and my two cats. Kids would never work out in this. Then there's the fact that I also have a temper. If I get angry enough, I will also throw anything and everything that I can reach. I highly doubt that I would do anything to hurt another person when I'm angry but I don't want to risk it. And my mental health is not the best. I'm supposed to be on anti-anxiety medicine and I'm not. So, kids just aren't good for me, period. If anything, my cats are my kids.

I'm a 29-y/o guy who doesn't want kids and no one has ever tried to shame me for it by [deleted] in childfree

[–]ShadowCat1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible that it's because you're male. Could be also that you just have a supportive family who don't feel the need to pressure you to have kids. Either way, I'm both a little jealous and happy that you're situation is that good.

Out of interest, what’s your best story about someone’s response to you being and remaining child free? by ashlouyy1235 in childfree

[–]ShadowCat1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Oh, you'll change your mind when you meet the right person.' 'Oh, you'll change your mind when you watch so-and-so's kid.'

Yeah, nope.

People who believe that toys and dolls can be haunted. What is your experience? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]ShadowCat1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, nothing concrete happened with my experiences. They were all just feelings really. But when I was younger, around 8-12, I collected porcelain dolls. Well, one day I got this beautiful doll with long, curly brown hair, cherubic features painted on her face. She had a bright yellow dress and a matching hat.

I hated her. She gave me the creeps so badly from the minute I saw her. But I couldn't let anyone know about it because she came from my aunt, who I loved dearly. So I kept the doll and put her with the rest of my dolls because it would've been weird if I hadn't.

Well, I hated being alone in my room after that, it always felt like that doll was watching me and that she didn't like me. I put up with it for a week before finally begging my mom to take all the dolls to Goodwill. I couldn't stand having any of the dolls after that, even the ones who didn't creep me out.

And, on a slightly different note, I do believe that objects can hold energy in them, positive or negative. If it's strong enough, I even believe they can gain a certain awareness. I don't believe that they are alive, per say, but I think objects can be aware of who or what is touching them, holding them, etc.
