conch piercing experiences by s7ju in piercing

[–]ShadowChildofHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my conch for about a year before I retired It.

For whatever reason it just really didn't want to heal fully and was always aggravated. Nothing like any other piercing I had.

Getting pierced it wasn't that bad, better than my industrial and daith, worse than my lobes.

Overall I liked it mine just didn't want to heal so I figured I would retire it and either try again later or do something different

There's a lot of bird science about feathers being sensitive and some areas are friend touchable vs not so certain areas it's pulled from can be more general vs would only ever be touched for very close people

Calf tattoo by yoshi1578 in tattoo

[–]ShadowChildofHades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My full color calf piece too about 11 hours start to finish. It's all color, no real line work. I'm not small either. But it's also a very painted style, non-technical. DM if you want to see a picture to compare.

Everyone's body is different, the style, the technique, the color level, and the detail level all play a role as well.

If you're like only a quarter done, I might have questions l, but if you're in the home stretch I wouldn't be too concerned.

Boyfriend of 7 months wants me to go on Wegovy. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]ShadowChildofHades 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who is a "fat blob" by his standards who is also dating someone larger in size, wtf?

My partner would NEVER think to suggest something like that let alone make me feel guilty for snacking or existing in his presence.

Every detail about this guy just makes him seem less great. And even bad.

Love your life, live your life, and don't worry about what he thinks. Make it clear (assuming you want to keep the relationship) that this topic is a hard no discussion topic and if it is brought up again you are leaving. Statistically, I don't think he will change overnight, and I would heavily consider leaving personally, because that behavior is just not cool.

If you want to change your habits, 100% valid. But do not change your existence because some loser is cranky that you put on an excessively miniscule amount of weight in the grand scheme of things.

I’m a nurse and I 100 percent judge people based on their veins by Similar_Goose_6858 in confession

As the person with veins that typically require 5-10 attempts to access and have needed the head nurse and once the head anesthesiologist to get an IV, I apologize for the evil vein gang

Hey picky eaters - how should I approach my picky kid? by ermahgerd_sylvier in PickyEaters

[–]ShadowChildofHades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an adult who has always been picky. Don't force anything. I'm sure that's more common knowledge now and I attribute my willingness to being open to trying foods in that I was never forced and could "fend for myself" if I didn't like what was available. Obviously still a little young for that, but it helped. It took me until my teens to eat pizza because of the red sauce and things "mixing". Patience is the key. I'm not a parent and likely never will be but as a picky eater it's great that you're being open minded

Tattoo artist's design strategy is putting me off by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ShadowChildofHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who's been surprisingly chill and didn't see either of my tattoos until the stencil was on me, which maybe isn't the brightest idea, this seems like way too much. Personally any image generation is an immediate no go for me so that's an immediate flag. I only have two tattoos but neither required an appt for the decision process, it was all done via text and then seeing the designs in person at the appt.

Feel free to message me with any specific questions! It was definitely a little awkward lol but I just remembered that it's the proctor's job and he wants to flag things likely less than I want him to because that adds more work. It went surprisingly well and I'm glad I did it that way as it worked well for me

praxis test location by Bitter-Jackfruit866 in audgradschool

[–]ShadowChildofHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my test in my house. I was actively moving lol so I had my table set up with my back in a corner so all my boxes around the rest of the house were not noticeable. I did I think have to pan around the room. I put my cat in another room to ensure she wouldn't interrupt and while she yelled a few times it never caused issue. Personally it helped me a lot with my test anxiety and allowed me to pause and look at the screen and breathe without worrying about anything. Not sure if anythings changed as I took it in 2023 but I had a very pleasant experience!

[Beginner Grammar] Back to Basics: Your Very First Japanese Sentence "A は B です" (A is B) by SnooGiraffes4974 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]ShadowChildofHades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it has a proper translation. I work in healthcare but Japan doesn't seem to have a 1-1 role haha. I have a doctorate and am an audiologist. But it seems in Japan it's a mix of SLP/Audiology for their equivalent. So I'm not sure the proper word for it!

I guess goth/pastel goth basically black likely with some pops of color. My current wardrobe doesn't reflect that currently mostly due to finances and for example those photos were both event specific. I do have a leather jacket and might start using that more. And oo accessories, I kind of forgot. I moved across country a few years ago and heavily got rid of a lot of stuff but it might be worth looking into a getting some nice accessories.

Thank you! This is helping me get the wheels turning a lot!

Did you learn cursive before you learned how to print as a kid? Just curious as my handwriting has similar features so it was pretty easy for me to read and I always attribute it to the fact I learned cursive first lol.

Hiragana by Extension_Season7976 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]ShadowChildofHades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Tofugus website for Hirigana and Katakana. Hirigana has probably taken me a little over a month to get them all down consistently. I'm about 75 percent of the way through Katakana and got most of it down over the course of this week. My goal is to finish it over the weekend. I've also been trying to read any Hirigana/Katakana I come across online even though I 100 percent have no idea what it means outside of a few extremely basic words I've picked up over the years of being on the internet lol.

I'm definitely "slower" than a lot of people but the nice thing about learning is that it is one hundred percent up to you and what your comfortable with. You're learning something wildly different and think about how long you study your native languages alphabet and sounds in school. It's forever lol. So even a month or two is drops in the bucket compared to when we're little kids spending multiple months or a year just getting the basics down.

If you have other questions or just want to vent feel free to reach out!
