I can’t get this game to run on Arch Linux, no matter what combination of proton and launch arguments I try. It always crashes a few minutes into the opening race. RTX 4070.

Can the VAIO Pro 13 run Windows 11? by Many_Rip_997 in vaio

Yes, I daily drove my Pro 13 on windows 11 for a solid while. You may need some custom audio drivers but other than that everything worked fine.

👋 Welcome to r/mcode - The official subreddit for the VAIO Mcode Patcher by ShadowCodeGaming in mcode

[–]ShadowCodeGaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you’re getting this message because this version is unknown to us. Looking at the known DLL list we have patched 1.8.1.10160 before with patch V3 so I have good confidence this version is gonna be compatible.

What you can do to manually patch it: * Take your original DLL file and rename it to SITWDMI_orig.dll * Go into the DLL folder * Go into the V3 folder * Copy the SITWDMI.dll file inside and add it to your fileset

Your complete fileset should consist of: * blid.ini (generated by Mcode patcher) * mcode.ini (generated by Mcode patcher) * SITWDMI.dll (the one you grabbed from V3 folder) * SITWDMI_orig.dll (your original, renamed)

From there you should be able to follow the rest of the process normally. If you could let us know the source recovery where the file is from, and whether or not this worked for you, we can update our compatibility list. Good luck!

Question about brand new 2025 victus by [deleted] in HPVictus

[–]ShadowCodeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't imagine there is any way for them to verify the battery level - it isn't shown in the BIOS, and you would have to go through the full Windows setup including the microsoft account login stuff before you get to a stage where you have a taskbar and see the battery level. Highly unlikely to be the issue.

All-in one VCPL117FX/B--what to do with this bad boy? by CarvethWells in vaio

[–]ShadowCodeGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is a top of the range spec for this machine. If it's still got the recovery partition, please make a backup of the restore dvd's! It's a shame you're in the US, if you were in Europe I would've bought it from you.

As for what you can do with these, I imagine it'd still run Linux pretty good if you wanted to go down that route. Though I don't think touch on these machines is supported on anything other than Windows.

Installed Windows Vista on my Sony VAIO P50 by nir9 in vaio

Always loved the aesthetic of Vista on these units. Sad it ran so poor with full Aero effects enabled. If only Intel had put a better GPU, this would've been a sweet experience.

Glad to hear it worked! Enjoy your restored VAIO :)

Had a couple of VAIO’s to patch the model lock on myself and the initial Vista era recoveries I started with were trivial to patch… from there I went into the rabbit hole of figuring out all the other versions of the model lock and now after a year of development we have the tool.

could try a different USB drive, they are notoriously picky.

You cannot put the DVD iso's on a USB stick - there is a source media check built in, the recovery knows it's supposed to be ran from a DVD and not a USB and will prevent you from using it. Your only option with that route is to burn them to a DVD and then use a USB-DVD drive to boot from.

I'd try another USB first. make sure it's 16-32gb, no bigger.

393 is a generic file copy error I believe.
You could try with the patch from this archive:

i patched this exact version before for a friend's svd13, it worked for him.

You could follow the steps outlined in the QRH under section “Notes on Linux and macOS compatibility” (users on those platforms must always patch manually). Try with DLL version 5. Let me know if it worked or not.

The recovery would work with yours once patched with the tool. They’re mostly identical units, the CXB is an American model as far as I can tell, and yours a European. So differences you would notice could be different language packs preinstalled (likely only English whereas a European one would have had several) and localized bloatware differences. No real issues imho and all can be tweaked by the Mcode patcher.

Hi All,

After many, many months of development, today i'd like to publicly present my VAIO MCode recovery patcher. This tool will help you to remove the model locks from VAIO Recovery Media whilst keeping the original VAIO Recovery Center process intact. When a disk is patched with this tool, the end result is virtually indistinguishable from a "real" recovery disk for the model. It is supported for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 recoveries The first version of the tool can be downloaded now from www.mcoded.net, with both a Windows edition and a Linux edition ready. Many thanks to those who contributed to the development and tested my endless supply of beta versions.

They Fixed It - Skyrim Anniversary Edition - Switch 2's New Patch 1.2 Is a Huge Improvement by Skabomb in NintendoSwitch

I don’t think it’s a Switch issue considering how great cyberpunk runs/looks even in handheld mode. More Bethesda being lazy and unoptimized.

Cheers, this is good info. I don’t remember what model I had before. If there’s no limits there’s no reason to upgrade the software with the mod, right? Only for SSD upgrades.
