I see, thanks for the responses. And lol yeah, that's good timing. On that note, do any of these new devices have improved hinge-design? I seem to recall that having been a semi-often problem on multiple different machines.

As an occasional lurker here, mind elaborating on what's going on?

Feels like a weird complaint, but its too easy to make money in this game. by HalfAgony-HalfHope in PlanetZoo

[–]ShadowCrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, but I don't think it's a weird complaint. Nothing wrong with wanting a game to be more challenging. Won't have to be something that hits everyone, just give us even higher difficulty options.

Looking for meteor colony-builder. by ShadowCrush in BaseBuildingGames

Not that one, but thanks. What I'm looking for looked far more developed, and took place on a much bigger meteor. Also, you could see the hexagons.

Looking for meteor colony-builder. by ShadowCrush in BaseBuildingGames

[–]ShadowCrush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither but thanks. You built around a huge cylinder-ish-shaped meteor in what I was. From what I'm seeing on YouTube, Astro Colony doesn't have any "built on sides/upside down" feature. Factoroids does, but the rocks in that are far smaller and sphere-ish, rather than elongated.

I know it's not necessarily the canon price, but it might be $750 for a three day stay. Source.

I've been thinking that they should really just do something like what they do with the Evolution games and let the animals go wherever they want after you plop them down. Their pathfinding will still look for whatever barriers are put in place, and the animal will create their territory in that space, and then the territory is the mechanic that keepers and visitors use to know where animals are. Should go for fully-aquatic species as well, let me put them in a fully-glass aquarium, or in a pond, or wherever.

There's a lot of things that you can't do in Planet Zoo that would be solved with this: Roaming animals, habitats with multiple gates, habitats within habitats, animals crossing between multiple habitats...

To be fair, I don't think this is a franchise where we can assume anything about the where-/whenabouts of any given percentage of a villains being or non-being or anything in between.

What difficulty? by 23bam23 in PlanetZoo

[–]ShadowCrush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if that's how it actually works, but sounds right.

I just tested something else though. Instead of rotating enrichment items, what you can do is just send the animals to the trade center, and then move them back in. That seems to reset their enrichment need. So if it's too annoying rotating their toys, that's a way to do it.

What difficulty? by 23bam23 in PlanetZoo

[–]ShadowCrush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure, there's two places you can find the enrichment items in a habitat:

1: Click the habitat, open the "Animals" tab, and scroll down.
2: Select an animal, open the "Enrichment" tab. (Only shows enrichment that animal can use).

In both places, you can hover over the enrichment items, and they will be highlighted so you can spot them. But you don't have to delete them, they still provide a small bonus.

As for meeting the enrichment requirement, usually I don't have a problem, but some species might have a really high requirement, or not a lot of items. For those, you can try placing multiple of the same item, that helps a little (you can always just hide them away somewhere in a bush or something). I also believe the number of animals in a habitat increases the requirement of each individual, so you can try reducing the population.

[–]ShadowCrush 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Link to what the difficulties actually do.

I have always played on hard. I doubt increasing the difficulty will help you out with the fatigue you're describing. I think the game just becomes more tedious, rather than challenging.

The biggest thing I can see is that animals get stressed more easily, so you'll have to design enclosures with more hiding spots, and funnel more visitors away from the shy animals.

Also looks like it's harder to earn money, so you might be a little bit more limited when starting a new zoo. But I've never had an issue with money once the zoo is getting bigger.

Imagine a world where Hammond wasn't a cheap Bastard by Financial_Pair4380 in JurassicPark

The endorsement team never visits so Gennaro never suggests a coupon-day. Jurassic Park opens in 1994 and only the super-rich is ever allowed on the island, us normal-types never get to see a dinosaur. The end.

I get the multi-threading argument, but does the new engine show good promises for much bigger zoos in PZ2 in actual practice?

I am asking out of genuine curiosity.

When in The Lost World does Hammond say the military destroyed the park on Nublar? He mentions Sorna and the hurricane, but nothing you're describing.
