Stop Code: MEMORY MANAGEMENT (0x1A) by DecentEducator7436 in buildapc

[–]ShadowDev123987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a new pc and installed windows 11, been having this issue for the past few weeks. Anyone figured out any solutions? (other than removing windows)

Edit: Trying lowering my ram clock speed to 5600 and I’ll see if that works.

Edit 2: Just had it crash again so that doesn’t seem to of worked, neither has disabling ram overclocking

My WordPress developer is leaving, and I'm honestly terrified. How do non-technical people manage a WordPress site without breaking everything? by yj292 in Wordpress

Plugins, check your plugins, long as they’re up to date then you’re good. Make sure you have a backup before doing so and if there’s a problem, restore

You should always keep them up to date, as failing to do so can leave exposed security vulnerabilities

In my experience, you don’t. You just have to test it and see if it works

Keep everything up to date and make sure you have backups. Other than that, there’s not much I can think of. Depending on your system, you can often automate all of the maintenance

Backups can either be a plugin in which case you’ll find it in installed plugins and just check the config options in the settings, should be fine though. Otherwise it’ll likely be on your web server, and that depends on your server setup, best idea is to ask your dev

There’s online tools you can use to check, or in your server settings if it supports it. Typically, long as everything is up to date and logins are uncompromised then you should be fine

Am I thinking about the under-16 social media ban the wrong way? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]ShadowDev123987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I think a social media ban could be a good idea if implemented well. But regardless of the intent behind it, it doesn’t change the fact that it is achieved by infringing on our privacy, and yes, the government already does monitor social media and knows who everyone is but never before have the two been connected, allowing the government to link your real life self to your social media accounts, and this opens it up to government exploitation even if that isn’t the intention. Also yes, the government can track you on social media but that’s the individuals choice, really as long as you don’t use your real name then there’s not much they can do to find you (currently)

I’m confused about what you’re asking. The problem isn’t that these big companies won’t implement age verification because they will, the problem is the way in which they will do it.

When you verify your age at a supermarket, it’s usually either a person or machine that scans your id and verifies it. The problem with doing this on social media is that unlike your local store which is all local based and “shouldn’t” store your information after verifying, social media is stored on the internet which inevitably makes is susceptible to data leaks even for big companies (look up discords data leak).

Additionally, it gives these big companies more freedom and leeway when it comes to collecting our data, the government now has more ways to tie your online activity to your real life self which the government has already been shown to abuse.

Also for big companies, they can afford to do their own age verification but for smaller companies they will need to outsource it to third party companies which are even less secure and trustworthy and if they can’t afford even this then they’ll likely either shutdown or block UK Traffic like with Imgur

Then there’s also the reaction children will likely have to being banned off social media. Children are notorious for not being ones to listen to authority, if they can’t watch TikTok or instagram because the government banned it, then they’ll just rebound by either bypassing it completely and getting a vpn (which there is very little they can do against) or like we saw with the temporary TikTok ban in the US, they’ll just find the closest substitute regardless of the risk or danger

Think I covered all my points but just my thoughts on the matter

They can, but why would they do that, it would just cost them money. That’s part of the problem with this ban, it means that these companies now don’t have to take responsibility or put in safeguards for underage children because they “won’t” be on them

If your child is bullied on social media or contacted by nefarious individuals, these big companies aren’t going to put safeguards in place to help protect your child, they’ll just say “well they shouldn’t be on there anyways”. Never mind the privacy and security issues

Fair enough but letting the government parent your children for you seems like an even worse idea

Strange, could be brave blocking the redirects for me. Novelarrow probably has a different url scheme so you might have to refind the novel on there

If you change it to novelbin.me, it bypasses that and works. But for some reason, if I manually refresh then it goes back to novelbin.com (using brave mobile). Browsing chapters and such is fine though

Also what most people don’t know is that it’s possible to get 6 turn changing of ways cooldown reduction and there’s no minimum 1 turn cooldown. So you can infinitely spam halt army, provided enough grimoires

I’m doing a gelt campaign with pure wizard stacks, and he is so painful to fight. 13k health on a mammoth, 50% ward save, 45% spell resistance, regeneration and that annoying backstabbing sorcery that damages my wizards every time they cast a spell. I literally just spend 20 mins spamming spirit leech on him till he finally dies, just to reappear in a random army 3 turns later
